Ariel Sharon, the Israeli Prime Minister came to Washington for meetings with George W. For the State Dinner, Laura brought in a special Kosher Chef.
At the dinner, the first course was served: Matzoh Ball Soup. Shoron told George W. what the soup the kind of soup he was served, and George W. looked at it and whispered to an aide that he couldn't eat such a gross and strange-looking brew. The aide replied that Mr. Sharon would be insulted if he didn't at least taste it.
Not wanting to cause any trouble, George W. gingerly lowered his spoon into the bowl and retrieved a piece of matzoh ball and some broth.
He hesitated, then swallowed and a big grin appeared on his face. He dug right in and finished the whole bowl.
"That was delicious," he said to Sharon. "Do the Jews eat any other parts of the Matzoh or just the balls?"
