Funny how she ended her fear mongering diatribe by referring to Al Gore as the rightfull resident in the Whitehouse. If by "rightfull" she means "2nd place" then she is correct. I know we've gone over this many times before, but EVERY recount, both before and after the Supreme Court decision, has shown Bush to win Florida. So her ending statements put the entire load of rubbish into perspective. She mixes opinion with fact rather well, and disperses some common sense in such a manner that her implication comes accross as a statement rather than innuedo. For instance, immediately after slamming the incumbants for something factual, she comments on how she believes in rational environmental policies. Who wouldn't agree with that? Yet she inserts such common sense within the body of text as to suggest the Republicans don't want this. Pretty clever for someone who feels the taxpayers should pay for campaigns. As if that would end political corruption on either side.

I believe I disagree with almost every word that comes from the author of this article.

I believe she is incapable of lucid thought.

I believe she must be a near-idiot to be chaning the ridiculous mantra that Al Gore is by some lunatic leap of faith, the "rightful man" in the White House.

I believe tailgater has hit the nail squarely on the head in pointing out that in EVERY SINGLE tally of the vote, both before and after the Suprmeme Court called a halt to the ludicrous process of recount after recount, George Bush got more votes than Al Gore got in Florida

I believe in the concept of Electoral College, even though it is difficult for some people to understand.

I believe the author of this article is half right in saying that had Gore been elected, things would be different, but got the other half wrong in saying she thought those differences would be for the better.

I think we've got the right people in the right jobs at the right time for the first time in a long, long time and when I consider the events of the past year, I am particularly thankful that such is the case.

Some people believe a lot of things that ain't so. Gore did not win. If Gore had won, it would have not been by a landslide. There is no Gore mandate, nor would there have been had he won.

Of course, there is no Bush mandate, either. Let's face it, it was a close election. But even counting all the chads, Bush did win.

Rick, I love ya, but I don't think you believe that ANYBODY voted for Bush. Unfortunately or not, 'tain't so. Uh, BTW, there will be no further recounts. Time to start worrying about the next election, and Gore has the Big L written all over him. You Dems better come up with somebody better than Daschle, Gore, or that redheaded peckerwood ****** from Missouri, or you will eat it again. As usual, I will "waste" my vote for the libertarian candidate.

I believe my head hurts after reading that pablum-puking commie pinko crapola.

I believe I need to take some aspirin and mellow out with a Montecristo before I seriously consider drafting a reply to that psycho... unless of course this type of reaction is exactly what the author was hoping for in the first place. Ugh.

What a marooooon. What a tar-rah-rah-GOON-dee-ay...

i think, if you read the posts by tailgator, steveS, eleltea, and charlie again, you will see they also disagreed with the article and explained their reasons.

this is called discourse, discussion, conversation.

you resorted to "pablum-puking commie pinko crapola", which of course does not fit any of the above comunication techniques.

i am guessing you are new on the board and you are absolutely within your right (i hate that word)to respond to anyone in whatever way you want, but you might not get the information you want to give to me or anyone else with cliches.

Rick, you are correct - my apologies and mea culpa. Since I am new here, I was trying to break the ice with a little (off)colorful commentary borrowed from Morton Downey.

But to your point, I find it peculiar that she (Author)infers how all the world's problems seem to have started once "W" took office. In the 90's when Slick Willy was running things, I guess they conveniently forgot about the attacks on our foreign embassies, the USS Cole, the previous attempt against the WTC, and so forth. Why we sat on our hands back then is beyond comprehension to me...

I had a conservative prof once say to me that Liberals are open-minded apparantly only when your opinion agrees with theirs. That thought kept running through my head as I was reading the article by Ms. Knight.

Thanks for your time and sorry for the previous transgression. I'll do my best to keep the bar set at a venerably high level. -Ted

i agree with you, she has a decided bias against bush and does blame him for everything including her car not starting one morning.

the freepers are the same way on the opposite side of the political scale and just as narow minded as she is.strange, i can't remember an address for right wing articles on this board.

regardless of ranting and raving, i don't think any one of us has all the answers, but together we might have some answers.
