Sounds good! I am sipping a very large glass of my favorite beverage (Domaine ste Michelle Extra Dry Methode Champenoise) and puffing on a Mayorga High Octane Parejo Trios! A truly fantastic smoke!

Ahhh J.J. Another Sushi Chef in the group eh?

I have been making my own for years now. I still like going to a bar once in awhile for things like Sweet Shrimp and such, but for the usual fare, we do it right here at the house. One of the best meals around in my opinion, and very heart healthy to boot! :o)

What do you make may I ask?

Had my first Puros Indios Maxima Reserva tonite (Thanks Danny!)..Normally, I've hated EVERY single Puros Indios cigar I've "attempted" to smoke..This one was unbelievably good!!..Medium to fuller flavored, medium bodied..Lonnng finish..flavor developed nicely throughout!...I'm gonna give another try to the other reg PI cigar Danny also sent me..Maybe I was wrong about this line...haven't had one before tonite since at least a year prior, although the Connie Danny also sent me looks pretty tasty also!..Decisions, decisions!

Hey JJ...The HDM Epicure is a tasty smoke but a little too mild for my taste..I've had several of them and I guess I like a stronger smoke..Lemme know what you think

Keith I know you labeled it a #1 but I measured it and believe it to be a #2,oh well.

Goose, since I'm the only sushi consumer in the house I tend to just go with my favorites and the more basic fair.I've forgotten most of the japanese names for different types of sushi. No sh*t I had to stop at Micky D's for the ole lady on my way home, the boys are out and about.I'm like, your serious you don't want a nice rib eye or anything? Nope two cheeseburgers and an extra large fry please, she says she was starving and didn't want to wait on me...LOL

Now when I was single at least I could get the roomates and various freinds over so I could practice.LOL

When the mood strikes me spur of the moment I'll just grab some fake crab, cucumbers, carrots and radish sprouts and do up a few Cali rolls(I like a little radish srouts in mine, gives them a nice subtle peppery flavor) or maybe just cucumber rolls and spicy tuna rolls.I haven't mastered anything like a rainbow roll or crunchy spider roll but then I haven't tried either.I make a decent hand roll so you can pretty much stuff those with whatever you like.

Tonight I'm just going for some grilled eel hand rolls with cucumber, carrot, and sprouts and a few salmon skin hand rolls with the same and then probably my favorite starter and finisher is Ikura(Salmon eggs)with quail egg and a generous dollup of WASABI! I'll twist up a couple cut rolls for breakfast/lunch tomorrow.LOL

Oyster shooters:1 raw large oyster, some chopped green onions,a quail egg, wasabi to taste and chopped/smashed rashish sprouts.Combine swirl and shoot.Mmmmmm

The soft shell crabs are comin' and they be mighty tasty and I also need to find another source for live shrimp. You cut the shell off the tails then split the tail and serve it on rice patties, tempura the whole head and deep fry then eat the head feelers and all.OMG these are the best there is.

you guys really like exotic food.
the only sushi i eat is lox (smoked salmon)on a toasted onion roll with a shmeer (some cream cheese). toby bought one the the mini george foreman grills and we use it for salmon and hamburgers so far. great gadget for $20. this week end we will have either beef bourguinon or . stroganoff

we make them in batches and freeze them in 8 0z deli containers so if we don't want to cook, which i think we never want to do, we have food ready in 7 minutes. recipies available if wanted.

and one of charlie's favorites, dryers banana fudge chunk is back so all our snack is ready.

as far as cigars, i will smoke whtever i have in whatever room i am in, but definitely a partagas series s exquisito and at least one of the monte series V. if the rams are shown in a pre season game, i will absolutely go for an isom

Paid off a '99 F250 Powerstroke. To celebrate, wife and I went to Morton's for dinner. Sat down, sparked up a Cusano Selection Robusto. Vodka Martinis. Caesar salads. Awesome service. I had a double filet with bernaise, a Hogue Cabernet, wife had 3# lobster and a Markham Chardonnay. Finished with a chocolate souffle for two, and coffee. Topped that off with a Camacho Corojo. How's that for a great night out?

JJ! Emmmmm Soft Shell crabs are one of my favorites! I love getting a whole one at the bar deep fried in tempura and quartered. We don't have a deep fryier so those are out at home.

I tend to make the same things you do, primarily, Tuna sushi, shrip rolls, spicy tuna handrolls, raw scallop sushi and rolls and occassionally, we go down to Bellevue Wa. to a big Japanese fish market and buy stuff like Uni, YellowTail, Anagi, Giant Clam, Bonito etc.

Fortunately, my better half loves the stuff as much as I do, so we try and have sushi at least twice a month. Once at home and once at our local sushi bar! :o)

I'm getting hungry!! LOL!!

OH! Didn't see your request for my favorite sushi items. I like the following the most not in any particular order:

1) Bonito sashimi

2) SoftShell Crab

3) Sweet Shrimp (tails raw- heads deep fried)

4) Uni (sea urchin roe)

5) YellowTail

6) Giant Clam

7) Rainbow Roll

8) Albacore

9) Tuna sashimi

There are others too, but that is usually what I order at the sushi bar depending on how hungry I am and how much $$ I am willing to part with! :o)

I have been an avid sushi fan since 1978.

Have a Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur prensado Oscuro set out for tonight. Will probably finish up the last book in the Revolution At Sea series by James L. Nelson. Great stuff for you nautical/history buffs.

Just nubbed a Connie 16m, with 3 (or was it 4?) glasses of Belvedere cabernet. The wife was wondering where it all went.

Contemplating what to smoke next.

Things could be worse!

The experience was well received upon my soul. The smoke and the Cuervo helped. The sunset was another story. As the sky turned purple-ish coral a thunderhead moved in making the whole thing a work of our perfect Creator! I hope your experience was one to behold as well. I was strumming Paul McCartney's Vanilla Sky while this was all going down. Magnificent!

Went to my fav cigar bar in town...enjoyed a CAO L'anniversarie Cammeroon (sp?) AND a Padron something or other that I chose at random...liked the CAO best...enjoyed 2 glasses of a nice Shiraz, some gourmet pizza from the place next door...out on the patio by the fireplace until midnight, then indoors due to some stupid law here...with my hubby, sister-in-law's sister, and the owner of the joint...he gave my in-law and myself armloads of empty boxes for our cigarbox purse project...treasure trove of the elusive Opus X Reserves (my personal source, have yet to smoke any though)...and came home at 130 am to enjoy a bowl of Dreyer's chocolate ice cream......DELIGHTFUL evening, I missed you X (Chargers suck BTW IMO)!

Will post the pic as soon as I can find WHERE I put the cable attachment, LOL!

*saying* and *doing* are STILL two entirely different entities - either implied or unintentional by consent or ignorance ... if they were germane ... Clinton would have been impeached in lieu of impugned ... Hilary would have been more intrigued ... and that could have made all the difference in the world according to politics and media coverage ....
