Here's one for you Mr. Mean.

Believe it or not this is a fresh water redfish.

Barry, I have been trying to reply to your email for weeks now. Everytime I send an email to one of your email addresses, it gets returned to me stating that it is "Undeliverable".

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the research you did on the Spanish Cedar. Nice catch BTW.

Mr. Mean, caught this one on Lake Fairfield. Just off of I 45 a little more than half way to Dallas from Houston. It's a hot water Power Plant Lake. Cool place, deer, eagles, coons, and FISH.

Weighed in at 32lbs. It was one of three (the limit) that I caught in three casts into a huge school so thick you could've walked across the lake on them.

I had to fight off the Racoons while cleaning them. Critters in a protected wildlife area get realy bold.

Blackened in a skillet over an open camp fire is the best.

i.m.steve, try these:[email protected]

A friend of mine who lived in the northeast said there was one raccoon, of the many that lived in the area of his country home, that came to his house every Monday night on time to watch Gunsmoke, then left when the show was over.

How smart is that? Gunsmoke wasn't Playhouse 90.

Awesome fish. Did it just jump off the hook into your net or was it a fight. Wish we had fishing like that around SoCal.

Marla,
I tried smoking it but my zig zags kept ripping and I couldn't get it lit. Lol

These things fight like frieght trains. It totaly destroyed my plug, bent both treble hooks and took off all the paint. I caught 3 in a row that day and it took 3 different rods, reels and tackle to do it.

I've battled huge ones in the Texas surf without being able to land one. The fifty pounders don't even know I'm on the other end of the line. I've landed sharks up to 6 ft. long that didn't fight as hard as some of these Redfish do.

Mr. Mean,
Fall is Fayette County Power Plant Lake. The schoolie Bass are 6 pounders and when things are right, it can be terrific!
Some of those brave souls that fish hurricanes caught some of those big Bull Redfish (which are females) when Fay raised the tides to about 4 feet above normal last week.
It seems like I fight and loose a huge redfish everytime I fish Surfside. Someday I'm git that sucker!
