Well guys, and the few girls here, tomorrow night I am headed to USAF basic training. I'll have to go without enjoying a cigar for quite a while. It's been fun reading about cigars here, and offering up what little experience I have. Expect me back sometime in November maybe, probably whenever they allow me to have my cigars and a computer. I'm going into EOD training at Eglin AFB in northern florida, which isn't far from Panama City. I'll get back to all you institutional rejects later. : p Peace everyone.

Good Luck and thanks for volunteering to protect us! I do not know what EOD training is but try to pick a specialty that will convert to something useful in civilian life. If you end up at Lackland in San Antonio let us know.

Thanks/in advance for all the well wishes. I'll tell everyone where I am from time to time.

Might as well say what EOD is. It's Explosive Ordanance Disposal. I'm the bomb squad for the most part. Typically it'll be unexploded ordanance from training and stuff that I'll be "disposing" of.

Keep your mouth shut and your ears open. Do exactly as you are told. No more no less. That is still the best advice for Basic Training. Good luck. Blow something up for me!

Good luck at basic. and when you get to Eglin remember Sammy's is just down the road. They ladies are real friendly there (for a fews bucks they're extra friendly) and they let you smoke cigars.

Wow ... very cool. My niece is leaving the same day, to Lackland AFB in Texas for her basic training too!

She was scheduled to leave on September 11th, but they moved it up because the military doen't want anyone flying on that date ...
