It was said once that being in the huddle with him was like being in the huddle with God. Arguably the best quarterback of all time, Johnny U died today at the age of 69.

I was a HS sophomore, playing on the jr. varsity team when I first saw him play ... that season ended with a championship for the Colts in what is often called the greatest game ever played with Johnny leading the way to a most incredible win over the NY Giants.

The story of his career is the sort of stuff legends are made of ... so long, John ... those of us who saw you play will never forget the experience.

Certainly one of the greatest ever to play the game. Unitas and his receiving corps were the first great offensive "machine" in the NFL!

He had a heart attack while with his fitness trainer. I can remember as a kid watching the Colts beat the Giants in overtime. It was in black and white TV. Geez,It seems like it was just a little while back. X
