OK, the wife I got into an argument a few nights ago. It's been simmering and stewing and finally reached a sizzle yesterday.

The standard around here is that if somebody is wrong, and their ego will allow for it, a gift is given. So, as you can probably imagine, I'm generally on the "gifter" side of things and she is often the "giftee".

Well, tonight, it so happens, I was afforded the luxury of being right for a change. It sometimes pays to stick to your guns when the ammo supplies are in your favor.

So, she comes home from work with a small package for me. I open it up and two Pinar 1958 Series B Pre-Embargos fall out. What better way to say I'm sorry, dear than to offer your mate a couple 'a nice cigars.

And nice they were. Although, they're mixed with 50% dominican filler, they supposedly contain 50% sanctioned Cuban tobacco (I did my research after smoking...sometimes instant gratification overtakes curiousity). Of course, while it doesn't have the potency of a 100% Cuban, it's flavors were out of this world. Note: I said "flavors", and as a typical one-dimensional, cigar smokin' newbie...I could tell the difference.

Well, the wife and I are talking again. I just smoked a very nice peace offering. And now, I'm topping it off with my favorite pre-bed treat, a heaping bowl of Ben and Jerry's.

If life gets any better, heaven can't be too far away.

Speaking of flavors...you can't possibly leave us hanging without telling us WHICH Ben & Jerry's flavor...gosh!

Seriously, that's pretty cool. Whatta woman! Hope you reciprocate in such a wonderful, thoughtful fashion. That is, when you're wrong! LOL!

Tonight's flavor 'o 'de day was Chunky Monkey. Cherry Garcia is another favorite, but I'm the kind of guy who likes a lot of variety (in my ice cream, that is).

Reciprocation is plentiful. Flowers, dinners and recently she struck paydirt when I bought her a very nice bed (completely unnecessary, which constituted it as a "gift") that she wanted for a guest room.

And don't worry, I've got being wrong down to an art form. At times, a very pricey piece of art, at that.

Artwork and dinner? Damn...you got off easy. Last time I was wrong (which is always in my house), it cost me an 4 pack of Duracells, a Fabio calander, and Steel Magnolia's on DVD (directors cut). Consider yourself a lucky man!!
