Anyone have the 411 on this line? I remember reading some positive things years ago during the "boom". Spent $4 on a 5-back and mulling over whether to smoke 'em or pass them off to my loser, tight-fisted buddies on poker night. They enjoy the finer things in life like Keystone Light and shots of Four Roses whiskey.

if you already have them, why not smoke a few and decide for yourself if you like them.

reading some self appointed taster at CA simply tells you what he thinks about them.

i smoke poderozas and almost everyone on the board thinks they are garbage. i smoke la habaneras and same thing.

prewmium, uper end cigars, there is more of a meeting of the minds, or mouths. everyone likes monte #2's from isom, everybody likes the opes X, a lot of people like the new monte series V, partagas series s, and a few others.

bottom line probably is for your cheap everyday cigars, you have to find your own brand, which will change from time to time. that's the advantage of the 5 pack.

Mr Mean doesn't know what he's talkin' about...Don't listen to him...LOL..When they first were released a few years ago, I really enjoyed the maduros..Nats suck (IMHO)...I just got a box of maduros here a few weeks ago, and after having a couple of them, are very happy with them....I think they're a pretty good smoke!...Not great, but good!..Good medium flavor (cocoa, nutmeg)..Rich tasting!...Mild bodied

I picked up a few of these for MrsS who, as many of you know, enjoys a 'gar from time to time and tends to prefer a mild - medium smoke unlike her old man, who's never met a smoke that was too strong ...

Her reaction to these was that they were OK, but a little bland ...

At $0.75 a piece they are just fine for my gardening/yardwork smoking budget. I'm a friggin chimney when outside!

Meanie has inhaled too much meat smoke, he don't know.

You must understand. I got 300 to 400 yard smokes already. I am not interested in the nuances of a .75 cent stick. Don't make me send you some of them.

X haha.
Rookie might agree:
We just like to find one that we like enough but we won't whine about when we gotta put out a smoke 15 minutes into it because we get a stinking call and the boss sez we can't smoke in the car.

I bet a Hemingway that Rookie likes 'em for work or yard smokes. Me..I keep a tin of mini Macs or CAO's on board for the short smoke between calls.

I don't care what call I get...I've only chucked a cigar once (a Fittipaldi trophy (barbershop wrapper...Unbelievably good!..Literally tastes like caramel popcorn!...I just wanted to cry..LOL) when I was behind a stolen car with three mopes inside and they were about to bail..LOL..Febreeze works wonderfully so the non-smoking guys who drive the same car won't b*tch and whine about the cigar smoke...I can care less what the bosses say...We used to have cars you can smoke in but now for some reason all of them are considered "no smoking" cars...BS...When I get a call or make a stop, etc, I just balance the cigar on the dash with the lit end sticking out toward me or between the front seats on the mic holder..Works fine until you forget about it and as soon as you start moving, it falls on the floor or in your lap..now THAT sucks!

I always smoke good cigars at work..I work mids (by choice) so I have plenty of time to really enjoy a good stick!...In five years, I don't think there has been one day that I didn't smoke a stick at work when I was on patrol

Plus the "cigar on the dash" trick works so well that any cigar is easy to relight after returning to the car after a call or stop

I actually bought a box two years ago of the Montague's and kind of forgot about them. Then when CI started blowing these out I thought I should try one and if I like them I can stock up. The one I had out of the box was delicious so I bought two five packs on auction. I tried one right away with no aging time and it was pretty bad, that is probably why most on this post don't have much nice to say about them. And if you don't want to give them good aging, probably not worth having around.

You're lucky Keith. We have had a no smoke policy in our cars for 15 years. If one of our mechanics gets a whiff of smoke in the A/C the boss gets the info right away. We have a lot of herfers in our office, but strictly out of the car, between calls, or during lunch.

(Do I sense a threadjack in progress?)
Call the cops!

I never bring the good stuff to work. Free time is too sparodic to get in a good 45 minute leaf break. Nah...good stuff is for the porch...no radio...no
d1(kheads. Just distilled or fermented grains and well aged leaf.

in my small hometown the city council just enacted a ban on tobacco use in patrol cars and it really pissed me off? I mean who are they trying to protect. Other officers who use the car later? Nothing some deodarizer can't solve. Surely they aren't trying to protect the punk who is being toted off to jail? After an officer goes through who knows what to catch some punk and arrest him, I say let the officer light up in the car on the way to the station, who cares if the prisoner likes it or not.

Rookie, I saw a motorcycle cop yesterday that had a stogie while he was cruisin. Maybe you should request a bike.

unremarkable smoke. does not taste bad, just does not make much of an impression.
