last night, while watching frailty, i smoked a cao l'aniversarie extreme lancero 1968-1998. pretty impressive name. the other 3 will have to sit awhile. it was sort of on the moist side and didn't want to stay lit. i smoked a poderoza later and the cao was better

i was looking forward to smoking a hemmingway work of art tonight, but i made a mistake. i read a taste test in CA (a subscription i have and don't know why. i never ordered it and i don't get billed for it) and i am not sure i will enjoy: a coconut and ceder flavor (not so bad so far) with hints of olive brine and pencil lead. what is olive brine? does one put cucumbers in olive brine to make new pickles.

about 10 years ago, most of us remember the price of cigars going up and up and up, until a curley head was selling for $5.00 and a decent cigar like a cohiba lancer ran $15.00 and a partagas 150 was close to $30.00.

cibid and other sites on the net helped bring the cost down to reality. now a premium cigar like the ones i am trying cost $5.00 for a cao and $7.00 for the brine edition of the hemmingway.

i have left to try an onyx reserve mini belicoso madura, a drew estate industrial press brick, and a limited acid "star" monkey.

after this excessive expene i will probably go back to my poderozas and la habaneras and montagues all of which are available here at very good prices.

the savings will allow me to buy one of those maseraties (sp) (can't spell, can't afford it) or one of the $5,000 humidors for my dollar cigars, or maybe i'll even buy one those suits and ties that they show. i still think i prefer shorts and a tee shirt regardless of what i am smoking

Are those the ones that are made by the Devine Bette Midler?

... I sure hope she does better than Norris and Belushi ... ;-)
