I'm trying to convince these guys at work that the $5.00 cigars that they buy from thier "conection" cannot possibily be Cubans and more than likely are dog clippings and grass droppings, but they aint buying it.

I need some third party input for them to believe.

Do a search for the thread, 'A very LONG article' ...

Not only is the article good ... but there are some outstanding links ...

Good luck ... some people just like it in their 'make believe' world.

Not all Cubans cost $15.00 each. You can buy the 40s gauge 5 in of many brands for $5.00 each. The Cohibas, R&J churchills and the big sizes Americans like cost more. Jose L. Piedras cigars are mighty tasty machine made Cubans that start at $40.00 a bundle.

That would be the key ... what exactly are they claiming is a $5 Cuban cigar?

If they are smoking the ones GYO is talking about ... then they could be authentic ...

... but, if they are trying to say they are getting Cohiba or Montecristo for $5, I'd bet they are 'farm' cigars.

Sorry, fat fingers. I have a friend that insists that his $5 Cohibas are smuggled out of Cuba by refugees who do not know what they are worth. Sometimes the story is better than the cigar.
