Why is it that what I grew up knowing as the "fast lane" on the highway (no. 1 lane), has now become the slow lane? And the culprit almost always is a van with Mexican plates, driving at about 55 MPH with 5 other cars riding his tail.

that van has 55 mexicans piled inside it, all returning from the 'holiday' in Me-hee-co that La Migre sent them on ... it's unable to exceed 55mph ...

why was I expecting something different in a thread by this name??? .... hmmmmmm

Well, like you Californicators I live in a border state. I know what you're talking about but it's not likely to change. If I lived in a 3rd world pisspot, I'd be heading to the nearest wealthy country too. I don't have a problem with immigration per se, but I think anyone who comes here should learn the language, obey the laws, insure their autos etc. When my wife came to the US, she was more fluent in English than many native born Americans. Funny thing, she's much more conservative than me. I try to get her to consider some Democratic candidates, but no it's straight Republican. You should have heard the arguments when I was supporting John McCain in the 2000 Primary and she liked Dubya. I'm off down a rabbit hole here, but...

I'd rather take my chances on Mexican drivers than the little blue-haired ladies around here. They're dangerous!

And my case in point was once again proven several times today on I-5...AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Oh no I wasn't...

I said "a van with Mexican plates" not a van with Mexicans...Wang-dang-lang could've been driving it after he bought it in Ensenada for all I know...it is just one of those things that I notice on a daily basis.

I usually am driving by them so fast in a rage of fury on their right-hand side in an effort to pass and get on with my business, while flipping them off as I cut them off, yelling for them to 'get in the right-hand land ****', that I don't have a chance to see their ancestry / heritage / nationality / race / gender / age / I.Q. / color / height / weight / yada-yada-****'-P.C.-yada...

But if that is considered to be very insidious prejudice, then so be it!

Wake up, hang up and drive! I have things to do!

The worst offenders are also of other than "white" or whatever we are supposed to be called these days! Honkies in Urbanspeak-which nobody seems to object to!
I will not point out the ethic origins of the worst of our Southern California residents, but if you are from Southern California-----you will know! Wanting to get to another lane, well, just stop the car in traffic, no problem, and freeway entry is a big adventure!

I like the Wake-up, Hang-up and Drive part of this post!!!! I cannot say how many time I was almost takin out by **** Drivers!!!! while riding a Bike in any givin State in town or on the Highway... People think its there God Givin Right to read a book,argue with there spouse/bf/gf/etc. or talk on the damn cell phone... countless times I have flipped them off or cussed them with there windows down at a stop light....
I even had a confrontation with a guy who was on a damn cell phone and almost ran my ass over switching lanes and not paying attention... he instantly cops an additude as it being my fault for being there... I often wonder how his surgery came out.. because I told asked him if he had a good doctor.. and then proceeded to shove his cell phone up his A$$... many take offence to kind jestures while there on the road these days!!!! which brings me to a nice picture post to co-inside with this post!!!!
