Hey dude, on a true box of Habanos, the seal will be folded where the Coat of Arms is split exactly down the middle. On your box, the Coat of arms is entirely on top of the box. This is wrong, and a dead give away that those cigars are fake.

The seal below that is folded on the center of the coat of arms, neither seal was broken when I recieved. It has all the trappings of the real deal BTW. The factory code and dating is burned in the back of the box, the box is not beat up, the bands are correct for the product, the product looks good, tastes good, is long leaf, is well made. The interior had the correct implements i.e. thin tissue separating the sticks along with the Habanos S.A. leaflet. Plus I know of this purveyor through a reputable local. i'm good with 'em

Oh your right on about the seal, but alot of times the orig. seal can be opened for inspection at the factory ect...... The orig seal in my case is correctly placed but a second seal is put over it by the swiss distributer Interbak S.G.

I've got one going right now....its nice....probably go with Partagas next time though. Montecristo no4 is a little too "over-manufactured"

*UPDATE* Oh boy im about half way through my first one and the getting is getting good...Its been 6 months since i've had one, last time I was in Cozumel.....Going to the Bahamas in January for my honeymoon and ill have to stock up....I heard some crazy stuff about no4's quality going down but i'll tell my experience is has been good.

Monte #4 is Cuba's most commonly produced cigar. It is produced in several different factoriedely Quality control varies widely.

You are correct about the placement of the seal. It caught my eye immediately. However, that, in and of its self is not conclusive, IMO.

We are talking about Cuban manufacturing. They are known to ocassionally even put out boxes with misspelled names of the particular cigar. Wouldn't you like to see photos of: 1) the bottom of the box; 2)the cigars in the box; and 3) the feet and heads of the cigars? I would.

Perhaps, he will indulge us!

Im going to go ahead and submit a couple threads, One with the bottom of the box, One with the foot of the stick, One of the whole stick and band, and one of the interior of the box w packing. Sorry I already took the sticks out of the box and put in the humi, so no pick with them in the box.....Im no expert, but I've had them before, know what they taste like/look like ect....It might take a day to get approved for your viewing.

I've only got #1 box with the 2nd seal, but it's folded so the 2nd coat of arms is cut in half also. I don't know how critical the placement of the 2nd seal is in determining authenticity. If all the cigars were uniform it length, ring guage, and color and everything else checks out like it should I probably wouldn't be overly concerned about the placement of the 2nd seal. The real proof test is how they taste when you smoke them.

OMG...man this is the last time I tell you guys about these things.......Go to a smoke shop in South America and the only cellos your going to find are on US made sticks.......I know there are alot of fakes out there, I know 90% of the forbidden fruit in the US is fake. I also have been out of country enough to see the real deal and smoke the real deal. You can look at the visual cues all day long, manufacturing standards are pretty lax once you leave our borders. There is plenty of product that comes out quirky, doesn't mean its fake. A stick can't lie once its lit, and yes these are real.

Cabinets dont come with cellos n e how, these are cabinet 4's.....i've got pics coming on today

I am not trying to rain on your parade, but you made me think. Perhaps you shouldn't. IMO, it is best not to mention or allude to countries, sources or methods of shipping. Such info would be best not shared on an open internet forum for the world to see.You do not want to give "the man" any help, do you? Perhaps you are just getting razzed a little because you are new or out of jealousy. Who knows? Just don't take it personally!

All I know, is that with no glass top, and no cello, the beetles are going to wonder what to do! If there was a glass top box, he'd have his own "beetle farm" and get to watch as the tunnels are made from ceegar to ceegar.

I don't think anybody is trying to rain on you parade, but Rfenst makes a good point. A lot of us talk about this cigar or that cigar, but specifics about geografic area of where they came from, distributors, shipping methods etc. are best left off the boards. Sometimes the fact that this is illegal gets push into the back of our minds. I suspect they don't gun for cigars specifically, but if they catch them they will take them and the feds can come down on your hard if they want to. Why make it any easier for them and increase your chances of trouble?

Yeah your probable right...

I figured the people I was conversing with, having more experience on this forum than myself, would let me know if the subject is as forbidden as the products are. As for getting into trouble...eh..highly unlikely but hey why push the luck right?

IMPORTANT NOTICE NEW CUBAN WARRANTY SEAL.

As a way to keep all Habanos lovers as well as our Exclusive Distributors updated all over the world, it's necessary to notify the changes to be occurred as regards as to the Cuban Warranty Seal.

From now on, a new Warranty Seal will be gradually introduced in all the packaging where two new elements are to be added. On the right hand, a hologram as a security item will be added and on the left hand, next to the Cote d´ Arms, a bar code will personalize every package.

Cuban cigar fakes

This label will always be placed from the upper left side of the box or display, leaving 3 to 6 mm from the edge and to be bending up to the front right over the center of the Cote d´Arms whenever possible.

This Seal has been developed through a base of synthetic paper with special characteristics such as an auto-destructive feature before any attempts of removal and with several maximum security techniques added.

• Non-transferred label. Any attempt to remove it, will cause invalidation of the seal by self destruction.
• Highly adherence of the paper (plastic) Auto-destructive, Self-destructive.
• Scan and Photocopy Protected System.
• The holographic band will show a bicolor text in 2nd and 3rd dimension.
• Elements with optical variations attached.
• Also it will enclose a micro dot only visible through laser scanner.

On the other hand, a unique bar code will be applied on every single box thus customizing every packaging. This information will be saved in a data base allowing the identification of this product everywhere, whom this product was addressed to as well as the Invoice number, amongst other details.

The fact is that there will always be a time in which both old and new Warranty Seals designs will exist at the same time in the markets. The length of time in which the two seals will coexist is not so easy to foresee because it depends on the stocks and on the rotation of the different products.
