Based on the headline to this thread I have to say good for him.

Now, if somebody in his inner circle can remind him that he's going to have to switch off when he's giving the Chinese the handjobs he'll be all set!

Quote: But Obama's summit partners declined to endorse his position, issuing a watered-down statement saying only they agreed to refrain from "competitive devaluation" of currencies.

Can't remember who it was that put us in such a great position with China. When you got no hand, all you can do is bluff, or fold. Is Obama the first to bend to the Chinese, I guess you righties have selective memories.

Don't worry, we remember just fine that it was Clinton who sold us out to the Chinese.

Guess you lefties have really selective memories.

Calavera- Clinton just gave away military secrets to the Chinese, the economy was doing fine, it was Bush that indebted us to them, and cost us soo much money in a war that did us no good.

Perhaps a trip to Guatamano bay will help in you reeducation. Luckly, he didn't close it down like he said he would.

So we had not borrowed money from the Chinese before GWB? That sounds like desperation fiction.

Using dwd's logic then we might as well blame Nixon for the Open Trade policy with China. No wait, we should blame Europe around 1517 for trading with China......sheeesh!

I believe the OP was just saying that our dear Commander in Chief is living in a fantasy world if he believes we came out of the G20 with an upper hand.

You're right.

it was Clinton who said we had to "engage" China by opening up trade. Thanks for reminding us, dwd!
