North Carolina Democrat Heath Shuler, appearing on CNN's "State of the Union," says Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader is "unacceptable for our party," and says he may have to challenge her. Shuler said the leadership under Pelosi had pushed legislation that was "so far to the left," that by the time lawmakers managed to push it back towards the center "it had been demonized by everyone involved ... Nancy Pelosi is perfect for minority leader. She'll help to advance the conservative cause immeasurably.

Osama bin Lady probably loves Pelosi.

She can do more to destroy our country from within than he can from his cave in Pakistan.

Shuler was just about as good a quarterback as he was at forcing Pelosi out. Man that's gonna piss some righties off.

He had zero chance right now,

Anyhow, the way I see things, the worst thing D could have done was make a hasty decision. They need to re-group, re-strategize and survey the new R make-up. Shaking things up quickly won't get them what they want. She will eventually resign her leadership post "for personal reasons". She's been rendered harmless to her opponents now and can't do much to help the D any ways.

Piss maybe the moderate R's off.

ANYONE with half a brain not addicted to crack knows that keeping Pelosi only ensures that the next election cycle will only be a repeat of the repudiation you believe didn't happen.

What's it gonna take for you to understand that America doesn't want their style of crap any more? A complete rub out of both houses?

LOL!!!

You're joking, right? She's a gift. That giant manhole on her botoxed face cost the Dems a record amount of lost seats in Congress. Two years from now it'll finish off Obama. More power to her. I want her on TV being quoted early and often, right up until the next election cycle.

So, the party that was going to take back the House, and the Senate, somehow scored a major victory when they just took back the House. And the party that was gonna knock all the incumbents out of office, didn't. An the party that was gonna win in a landslide all the governerships didn't. And yet you kicked some ass. I guess I just miss it. Oh well, feel better about yourselves guys, and by the way another Tea Party cadidate just lost, you betcha (the guy from Alaska), just lost in a state where he won in the primary, doncha know. If the economy continues to turn around, I think you will be sorely dissappointed in 2012 election results.

A beating is when you lose the House, the Senate and the Presidency, then again I shouldn't have to point this out to you guys.

Fool.

You're watching your union dues fly out the window to a national election coffer that throws you under the bus and you want to talk about beatings?

The dems lost the house in a landmark loss. Historical. They didn't gain seats in the senate or in governorships across America. You didn't click on the link I provided. If you did you would've seen the red inroads that were made this past cycle. Study the map closer. You really think that this won't repeat itself in '12? It will be a REPUDIATION of the dumbass hope and change that fools like you voted for.

repudiate (rɪˈpjuːdɪˌeɪt) — vb
1. to reject the authority or validity of; refuse to accept or ratify: Congress repudiated the treaty that the President had negotiated
2. to refuse to acknowledge or pay (a debt)
3. to cast off or disown (a son, lover, etc)

[C16: from Latin repudiāre to put away, from repudium a separation, divorce, from re- + pudēre to be ashamed] re'pudiable

You cannot spin this in the real world that it's a dem victory. Continue to bury your head in the sand and watch as the party you cling to shrinks under the weight of promises it can't keep and debts it cannot pay anymore. The only thing left for you to hold onto is the stench in your nose from having your head so far up their collective asses for so long.

I understand completely why you refuse to meet and duck every invitation to herf. I'd be embarrased too if I held onto beliefs like you. They're letting you down and have let you down. Why you continue to prop them up and give them validity is beyond all rational and critical thought.

From Rolling Stone...hardly what you'd call a right wing publication, eh? Let's see what they have to say about the recent election cycle?

How big a defeat is this for Democrats?

Peter Hart: I've been doing Election Night for 46 years, and next to 1980, this is the hardest to stomach. It was just an old-fashioned beating. First and foremost, it was about turnout. Republicans and the elderly showed up, but Democrats and the young didn't. Only about one in 10 voters was under the age of 30 this year, compared to one in five in 2008. Blacks and Latinos also turned out in smaller numbers: They represented only 18 percent of voters this year, compared to 22 percent in '08. The Democrats won on both the coasts and almost nowhere in between. Was it a big defeat? You'd better believe it.

David Gergen: What we are seeing now is the high-water mark for the Obama presidency, at least domestically. No matter what else happens, even if he gets re-elected, he will never be as powerful as he was during his first two years. After Obama's election in 2008, I was one of those who believed that we were at a turning point — that the Reagan tide was receding, and we would see a cycle of progressive politics for 15 or 20 years. To have that reversed so quickly is stunning. This is the first time since the Truman-Eisenhower years that we've had three elections in a row in which more than 20 House seats have changed hands. We may be moving away from political cycles and into a period of extreme volatility in our politics, just as we have extreme volatility in our markets.

But don't take those professional opinions lightly...read the entire article...

Beating was the operative word. Thanks for throwing that out there DWD.

I agree. This was a tremendous victory for the Democrats. Tremendous.

In related news: Oceania is at war with Eastasia. Oceania has never been at war with Eurasia. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

DryWallDog also fails to mention that the Democrats did extremely well in Florida by maintaining possession of three dog catcher offices, 5 property appraisers, and 6 tax collectors. It was almost a clean sweep. (except for governor, the cabinet, US senate, and now a Republican supermajority in the state house and senate)
