Thought we established this earlier in the thread?

Ram has a bat that can take hit more than 30 people with! Though, he is not a baseball player!

But, has Rick even answered why he didn't ping Busa?

My apologies... #1 - I don't often peruse the political forum. #2 - I was at work when this was posted

Further points of clarification - I am not a police officer. I am a corrections officer. I do not carry a gun (on duty), nor do I drive a police car... I can't write tickets and I can't even get out of jury duty like real cops can! That said... I like what I do and prefer it to dealing with the public.

To answer the question -

Rick, you know I am quite conservative, politically speaking. I am also rational and logical. I believe people should be able to purchase and own high capacity magazines because the vast majority of folks are not going to use them to commit crimes. And the ones who WILL use them to commit crimes will not be deterred by a "law" that says they can't own them.

As stated previously, police are a deterrant. When the CHP is on the highway... everyone goes 2 mph under the speed limit. When they're not present... everyone goes 10-15 mph over.

In our department, police officers carry their own, personal weapons from a department approved list. They can also carry their own shotguns and their own rifles. Almost all of them have an AR-15... the civilian equivalent to the M-16. 20-30 round magazines, too.

As a rational, logical person I know that gun laws will only affect law abiding citizens. Until they destroy every high capacity magazine, and stop making more (which is impossible) the bad guys will find a way to get them or make them. If the BAD guys have them and you make it illegal for the GOOD guys to have them... game, set, match bad guys.

There was a county in Florida that was giving concealed carry permits to everyone who applied for one that didn't have a disqualifier (such as a felony or a domestic violence conviction). The crime rate in that county dropped dramatically. Criminals are usually quite cowardly and will only take risks when they know they have a clear advantage. Level the playing field and they aren't so bold.

Just my opinion on the matter.

Did you read that from a teleprompter?

That sounds like a very prepared statement.

Kinda like Palin's latest outburst!

Nah, Rick and I have shared a few meals and cigars before. Our politics are diametrically opposed, but we're able to sit and have civil discourse and enjoy each others' company. We don't discuss politics or religion, though...

I think if you got to know him, you might begin to think that he's the one mind f'ing some people here with the drivel he posts. Sneaky old bastid. Shhh

i have a 38 S&W revolver that holds 6 bullets.

if you need a 30 clip magazine to protect your family, i suggest you get more training so you can hit what you are aiming at the first time.

i also have 4 dogs that weigh less then 15 pounds average. the only thief that would break into my house might be ceaser millan, and he doesn't need the money.

for your eyes only

LMAO a geoffrey is a huge concoction of a lot of drugs here is a break down of the ingredients:

• Weed mostly
• Opium
• Herion
• Crushed up E
• Clorox
• Morphine
• Some of it's unidentifiable
• And a bit of Angel dust

It's like a drug neapolitan

You are one of the few that i can respond to in my
normal voice, but i must ask a question or two.

I have two auomobiles and both are registered and
licensed, and i own two revolvers, both of which are
registered with the local police.

If the second amendment had been interpeted properly.
owning a gun would not have been a prolem, but owning
a flame thrower or a canon would not. our malitia is the
national guard, not a bunch of crackpots who think it is
acceptable to wear a gun in church.

Other then the government screwing around with the tax
code, which they always do and will continue to do,
what personal rights do you feel you have lost in the last
ten years.

Personally i haven't lost any of the rights i had 50 years
ago, and i will avoid discussing our loss of habeas
corpus.

Rick should not have guns nor automobiles. I blame the State of California.

...and you weren't using habeas corpus so it is not like you even miss it. Just be glad you stayed out of those Halliburton-built FEMA-run camps.

Liberals don't have weapons. It simply is not possible. It was just a smokescreen to give an illusion that he is not defenseless.

Hey Rick... here is a little more food for thought, sir.

In Mexico, it is illegal to own firearms. Have you been watching the news lately to see how that is working out for them? Yeah... the drug cartels (also known as the bad guys) seem to be ignoring that 'law' and killing people left, right and center.

Since it is illegal to own firearms... the 'law abiding citizens' (also known as the good guys) are pretty much f'ked when it comes to protecting themselves and the cops are outgunned and just as scared as the citizens.

You ask me a question, the least you can do is acknowledge and respond to my answer.

re: your fixation with my coffeepots.

is that your only fixation with me? have you talked to your spiritual adviser about this problem?. do you have a spiritual adviser? do you understand the need to have one or more, to fulfill your personal goals, assuming you have any.

i know you have the right to vote without a literacy test, but there is nothing i can do about it, so i avoid thinking about it. your name never comes up in any conversations i have had, and i never heard your name mentioned by anyone at any herf i have been to.

other then to return cans and bottles to recover the crv deposit, have you ever done anything that might have any effect on anyone else.

what was the last original thought you had. do you disagree with hawkins belief in time travel..do you wear a wrist watch? one with numbers or hands that move with the small hand pointing towards the hour and the big hand pointing towards the minutes.

do yu have a carry permit? does your third grade teacher still make you upset.

toby has a tea pot but she only uses water from a reverse osmosis system so there are no water spots on the glass teapot

N QUIXOTE
Hear me now
Oh thou bleak and unbearable world,
Thou art base and debauched as can be;
And a knight with his banners all bravely unfurled
Now hurls down his gauntlet to thee!
I am I, Don Quixote,
The Lord of La Mancha,
My destiny calls and I go,
And the wild winds of fortune
Will carry me onward,
Oh whithersoever they blow.
Whithersoever they blow,
Onward to glory I go!

SANCHO PANZA
I'm Sancho! Yes, I'm Sancho!
I'll follow my master till the end.
I'll tell all the world proudly
I'm his squire! I'm his friend!

DON QUIXOTE
Hear me, heathens and wizards
And serpents of sin!
All your dastardly doings are past,
For a holy endeavor is now to begin
And virtue shall triumph at last!

(Don Quixote and Sancho Panza mount their horses and set out along a road)

DON QUIXOTE
I am I, Don Quixote,
The Lord of la Mancha,
My destiny calls and I go,
And the wild winds of fortune
Will carry me onward,
Oh whithersoever they blow!
SANCHO
I'm Sancho! Yes, I'm Sancho!
I'll follow my master till the end.
I'll tell all the world proudly
I'm his squire! I'm his friend!

DON QUIXOTE, SANCHO
Whithersoever they blow,
Onward to glory I {we} go
