Nice call Hog!

Who's in the House? That's right!

Who took back the Senate? That's right!

History in the making! This is the FIRST time that the party of the sitting President overtook the other! People are disgusted with the bickering partisian politics. People want action, not sniping!

Now maybe GW can fill his appointments! Court cases can start to move once judges are appointed, and the Homeland Security bill can get past the Senate!!!

From the guy who ran on the platform of a smaller Govt. Lucky he didn't put our Social Security into Enron stock. Don't forget, he wanted to put SS into the stock market. Didn't he run on the platform of education reforms?

How soon the little peoples forgets.

I know saying this is a semi thread-jacking, but IF Social Security HAD been put into the stock market from day one, we'd be multiple times better off ...

The REAL problem with SS is that the so-called SS Trust Fund doesn't exist!! ... that's right, boys and girls ... there IS no trust fund, at least not in the sense that term is used anywhere else ... SS funds flow into and out of the general fund ... tomorrows pay-outs to retirees will come from the pay-ins of all the workers ...

Then, because the pyramid is becoming inverted (soon, we'll have a larger base of payEES than payERS), it will topple over ...

Irrespective of who's elected, THAT's a problem that needs fixing ... and ACTION, not rhetoric, is what's required ...

It simply kills me the way Democrats mewl and cry about how the Republicans favor big business (well, as a matter of fact-they do) but fail to recognize that GWB Administration is doing something about the "crooks" that have run Enron, MCI, Adelphia, and Global Crossings (a Democrat stronghold)--THEY WILL BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE...more than Clinton and Company would ever have done or considered!

Wrong again oh stingy one. He wants to give us the opportunity to invest some of our own money(SS witholding) in the stock market, bonds or whever we want to.That is what he wants to do.

Education reform: Well maybe now that the Dems won't be dragging their feet on everything the Republicans are trying to do, we will see what can be accomplished.

Charlie,

you are right! that's why SEC chairman Pitts (GWB appontee) appointed William Webster to head the investigations in all of it!

ooops! Pitt resigned yesterday because he embarrased William Card because of an oversight.

oops! the oversight was that Pitt selected William Webster (THE William Webster)to head Public Co. Accounting Oversight board. BTW, Webster was director of U.S. Technologies which is being sued by it's stockholders for fraud. Oh, and Pitt was aware of it but didn't tell anyone on the SEC.

ooops! So much for GWB's confidence builder!

I have to go now to make a major purchase because my consumer confidence is at an all time high...

Hey GYO, Let me clarify GW's position on SS. He said that the individual should have the right/option to put the money into a health account vs. giving it to good ol' Uncle Sam, who by the way has been dipping their greedy hands (both rep. and dem.) into the SS fund for YEARS. How would you like it if you found out that our politicians have been "borowing money" from your personal savings account, with no intentions of paying it back? Even a "lock box" is a better idea than putting the money in a pit. What is wrong with giving the individual the right to invest his/her money? Don't you TRUST yourself, or do you need our government to hold your hand while they pick your pocket!

For what Mel Gibson would do watch the movie Payback!!! It is one of his better flicks, and gives lots of suggestions!

And GWB has done one hell of a lot more in two years than Fat Billy did in 8 memorable and forgetable years! Let Bill stay in Harlem and play bebop on his Saxaphone!!! He certainly cannot do anything else, especially when it comes to getting folks to vote for the candidates he supports....ask the guy in Florida (McBride) who thought he was going to unseat Jeb Bush with all of the help of Jesse, Al and Billy boy.....whoops did Hillary help too? My oh my Democrats are really licking their wounds.
