Not if he has been as as organized and "hands off" as we haven been told for years. I wonder what terrorist plan, if any, was in place for this contingency..

I would think that in the short term the crazy a-hole terrorists might have found another reason to blow themselves up. Those not so crazy may in the longer term be thinking more and more that it's just something they just can't win. I have read that many thought he was a p*ssy for hiding all these years. I honestly don't know how much pull Bin Laden has anymore. I guess we'll have to see.

My honest feeling... I think that it'll be a public relations coup for the Obama administration, but aside from that? Is it much more than an empty victory for us?

Osama's accomplished several things, he set-up the infrastructure for Al Queda in various countries including our ally Pakistan where he was purportedly killed. That was his major aim. Well that and the bringing of the satanic USA to it's economic knees- something he has arguably come close to doing. This network has yet to be effectively infiltrated much less destroyed. Secondly, he's become a martyred symbol for the ongoing factions fighting for "democracy" which I think is an unachievable concept in a world of Sharia. Lastly, his death has lit the fuse for revenge squads whose successes or failures we will experience shortly.

Bloody, I usually think of things in analogies. Think
Someone at work commented it feels like VJ Day to them. Myself, I figured it was more like the killing of Yamamoto. Nothing more than the killing of the mastermind of an unwarranted attack on our country.

Our country still has a lot of work to do to prevent/stop these lunatics from trying to intimidate us.

Yes.

It shows that we can and will find anyone and bring them to justice.

However, I do not believe he has been the biggest planner/organizer for years now.

A huge psychological win for the US!

Bring our boys and girls home and place them on the southern border.... Protect our country, not someone elses...

God Bless the USA!!!!

To answer your question, yes it will make a HUGE difference. It will be like throwing gas on a fire that has been going out for a while. I fear what is about to happen. Osama was the leader of a drug cartel, mainly Heroin production. They supply the world with it, another head will grow back and be worse than the first...

I didn't intend that we should leave them alone... I was just answering the question, yes it will make a difference. But I believe we have more pressing matters at home, the Undocumented Aliens, the 10 billion dollar Meth trade, not to mention the rest of the drugs come from the south, and the clean up needed from the hundreds of people killed in the tornados we were plagued with this past week.

I definitely agree with you there. We have a lot of work to do at home.

However, this is a big deal and I am glad the sonovabitch is dead!

I agree... Jeff Dunham should rename Achmed the Dead Terrorist; Osama the Dead Terrorist...

I don't agree that Obama is getting credit for it...

I think it could be helpful, but I still believe the real issue will be jobs (and the economy).

Oh everyone will be so happy they'll want to adopt Obama.

Then they'll pull up to a gas pump and reality will return.

It will make a difference IMO. Potential terrorist recruits will likely be discouraged by his killing and the cowardly way he died. They haven't been able to pull off anything big lately so I think the appeak to join the jihad is greatly diminished by this. It will also make those already involved think twice about staying with it with the knowledge that we can and will track them down. Throw in the intelligence we picked up in the compund and it looks pretty good. How much of a difference, only time will tell, but I am willing to bet it will be helpful in the long run.

I say we elect the Navy SEAL that pulled the trigger as the next POTUS

To answer the OG question..I am thinking that it will have a rallying affect on the radical terrorist groups and embolden them to amplify the agenda of terror worldwide.

Vigilance is needed in the near term to prevent as much senseless killing as possible

I think this shows that the US isnt as tied up with always doing the PC thing. Maybe thats what osama thought, that this country was too soft to attack him in a country without that countries knowledge, (or at least very little), he let his defenses down and thats all that was needed.
Killing him probabaly doesnt have much effect on al queda operations, but it's a huge moral victory for this country, if you dont think so, then just look at all the people rejoicing in the streets last night and everyones emotions today.
Ya thats right, it does feel good doesnt it!!

Al Qaeda hasn't been responsible for a terrorist attack for quite some time. All the recent stuff has been from people who were 'inspired by' them, but not financed or lead by them. I'm sure they will try to respond. I doubt they will have much success on any hard western targets, but we will see.
