Forbes magazine is preparing a story on niche or specialty online auctions for their "Best of the Web" series. They are looking for some of us cbidders to quote or comment on what's attractive about CigarBid.com, how much time you spend here, what your experience been, and any other comments about why you enjoy the site. I told Missy (an editor at Forbes) that I'd post here to get some feedback and that we'd probably get a few guys (or gals) that might want to be quoted. Any comments? Thanks.

I've found that the crowd here is one of the best compared to other sites. I have made friends with people that I otherwise wouldn't have had the chance to meet. I have also found that the friends I've made through C Bid are also some of the most generous people on the planet, regardless of their resources and incomes.
All in all, this place is/can be a very educational experience and a great place to save money on cigars and related merchandise.
Keep it Keith.

Keith, When I first checked out CigarBid months ago, It was like I had found a new home. Now I check out the site everyday for good deals which I hope do not become a thing of the past now. The things that keep me coming back are too numerous to count. What impressed me most was in the first shipment... the cigars came fresh in bags and not all dried out. Now with many autions behind it has become like a habit to come on and read the forum while here. Many people are kind and several are very knowledgeable. So now that the word is out Missy, let it be a good one :o)

The best thing about C-bid is obvious. You get smokes and cigar stuff for less than you would pay elsewhere. At least, that is my personal experience. Less riff-raff in the forums. Easier to follow the goings on. Lots of good cigar info.

College students to the big chesse at major companys, all come to c-bid forums to talk about cigars and what is going on in the world. I cannot think of a more diverce group who can chalk up anything on the forums and still be friends. I spend most of my free time here when i first came it was for the cigars now its for the fourms and the cigars come with it. Cigars at a low price and great advice!

I forgot to mention your topflight customer service. VERY important. All your people are sympathetic and helpful. Whatever the problem you "make it right". That is a big factor in keeping my loyalty as a customer.

The forum is much better here then other sites. I asked a simple question on another site and got no less then 50 answers of complete nonsense. Here they joke but you get a straight answer. Great bunch of guys/gals. Plus a bunch of great deals are just waiting to happen.

I also like that I can buy 5 packs. That way I can try cigars without having to buy an entire box.

Cigarbid is more of a community than a store. The customer service you find here is unparalleled anywhere. It's your local neighborhood tobacconist (but on the web) where you can talk directly with the owner and the other customers. The Cigarbid Forums have the best group of cigar people on the web; great information without the elitism you find so many other places. I check in on a daily basis and have been a member/customer since the site's inception.

Once Forbes magazine gets hold of this site to feature, the prices will soar. Cbid won't need to have an auction site anymore.

Here's my quote, " Avoid this site like the plague. Every time I log on I get a virus alert. My bank account has been tapped in to and Cbid will not stop taking money out of it. They won't stop sending me those damned smiley faced boxes. I am starting to have nightmares about the smiley faced cigar smoking yellow dot. My wife has accused me of smelling like a pool hall. My kids won't come close to me when I am relaxing in the back yard. They hold their nose and point".......wait

whats's the email?

My bid is too low?

Hey...just quote the stuff I said and don't ask for me to promote CBid.....I gotta take care of that low bid problem.... later.

Words of Wisdom, Golden, it will happen and we will not even be able to buy a 5 Pack of Lone Wolf for under 10 bucks (gasp, as if anybody would want them)!!!

Not to worry. The Forbes crowd has their smokes flown in from Havana.

Keith ... gotta admit I too have some reservations about adding to the existing # of bidders, but that's a selfish point of view. From your perspective, it's good to be mentioned in a publication as well-respected and highly regarded as Forbes is.

Don't know that it would be entirely accurate to say I WANT to be contacted and quoted, but I'd sure not have any reluctance to be quoted if I were to be asked ... and all comments that I'd make would, of course, be favorable.

Keith.... I am not new to the auction but I am new to responding to postings. I couldn't let this one get by.Like everyone else says it is addictive. I work 4:00PM to Midnight and I think I spend more time bidding on cigars and reading the postings than I do working.( Oh no please don't tell my boss.) I think it is a excellent place to go where you can by your cigars at an excellent price and read some very interesting forums. It almost seems like an extended family.Just don't outbid me on my Defsea or Ambrosia!PLEASE.......

I would love to tell Forbes that Cbid is great, but then I'll never be able to get a decent price on anything for a year or so!! Cbid is so good it's dangerous, just look at my humidors!!

Don't panic, I'd be surprised if a Forbes article will mean the death of CBid. Think about it, if the article sends significant new business to CBid those new customers will NOT be buying from their current sources. If prices on CBid go up, prices at those other sources will have to go down and people will go back. We'll see but that's my theory.

Keith - I hope that's true, but we've all seen the prices go up on the lots we normally bid on. I agree the number of lots has increased as well, but there seems to be more crap on auction than good stuff. I've been shopping elsewhere because of this. Just my opinion....
