June 23: Rep. Nancy Pelosi reportedly attends U2 concert while President Obama unveils troop drawback plan.
President Obama or Bono?
While Obama addressed the nation Wednesday night to lay out plans for troop reductions in Afghanistan, it appears that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi rocked it out at a U2 concert in Baltimore.
Although Pelosi’s office issued a statement after Obama's speech calling for a more substantial drawdown, Pelosi reportedly was watching the famed Irish band sing “Beautiful Day” and perform a musical tribute to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Pelosi’s office did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment, but the California lawmaker, a Baltimore native, apparently scored plum tickets for the concert and sat in the lower tier of the stadium

Cool. Hope she had a great time. I'm going on July 20. I wonder if I'll miss anything on tv.

They are great liven and the last time I saw them was 92, but have seen them 8 times.

Meh...saw them open up for The Alarm at a jai alai arena outside of Orlando before "War" pushed them to prominence. Then I saw them at the Pontiac Silverdome on the "Joshua Tree" tour...then I saw them again at the same venue for the "Zoo TV"...each time I saw them it was a constant slide into Springsteen Kookoo Town...tables of political organizations vying for your John Hancock...shirts and merchandise willing to give you from PETA to Amnesty International...then the most heinous of all...taking up concert time so they...well, Bono while the rest of the band stood nervously shuffling and staring at their feet went on a bender...no benders...about how I live in a messed up world and we have to do better and here in America we're doing it wrong...yeah...love the music...but I'll never see them again. They're just not that good anymore. Now all they do is slam one really good song with 2 mediocre songs and the rest is filler that you never listen to past the first review of the album.
