Took a couple of these down to the RV last weekend. First puff was OK. Second puff and my lips and tongue turned numb. The kind of numbness you get from a really nice, potent hot sauce. Immediately thought that something wasn't right. Super black pepper and cayenne punch. Way stronger then anything Pepin has ever put out. After about an inch, the pepper went away, followed by nice flavors, but nothing special. The stick was full, but not earth shattering as hyped.

Tried my 2nd last night. Before lighting, I took a few dry puffs, and again, the numb lips and tongue. So, I started to lick the tip. Sure enough, it seems the tip is coated with a strong pepper extract. After a few licks, the pepper was gone. The pepper blast on the first one was interesting, until I figured out that it was from flavoring, not the tobacco. A gimmick stick I will not buy again.

Oh, I get it, the old cigar=**** thing. Ha, ha, very funny. Sorry, but since cigars are so much smaller, I've never associated the two. The day I do, is the day I stop smoking. Then again, I can see how some may get “**** envy” from a robusto. Sad.

Sorry about this, dstieger. I saw that thread back when it was started, but lost track of it before your post about the pepper extract. Didn't know this had already been touched on. Guess I pulled a noob. If I had known this, I never would have wasted my money on these. Heck, if I want hot suace infused, I'll just rub a little "Backdraft" on a pepin stick.

Sorry I didn't make Dante's last night. Didn't get in from NC till around 9 PM, and still had to unpack and stuff. See you folks next week.

I had the exact same experience. Burnt lips and tongue are not my idea of a spicy cigar. These babies are flat out HOT SAUCE hot on the lips. LOL Once I got the pepper sauce off, it was a very decent smoke. I know a few guys who go bat xxxx crazy for them. For every cigar, there is a smoker. Too spicy hot for moi.
