Yes, I've been convinced there is a god after seeing the great wisdom and humanity shown daily on this board. Your fellowship has been such a testimony to god's greatness and mercy and if we were made in his image the very fact that good natured souls like those here exist then I have no choice but to have faith in ghosts and goblins. Praise the Lord.

Soon enough. Easy dinner tonight, bbq ribs and mashed potatoes. not sure of the other sides yet. i'll figure that out later. My daughter is doing some prep work now in the kitchen. The whole family will sit down together and eat dinner and talk about their day just as we do every day, a dinner that I cook the majority of the time.

Again, I never said that. And no where close to Stewart's level of anal retentiveness. I am a good cook and use that talant to keep my family fed with good home-cooked meals. Makes for a nicer and more stable family life. Too bad you don't have that, I think it's great.

Thanks. While you're talking to the big guy ask him if people who follow him to get their mansions in heaven are just doing so because they are jealous of not having it here on earth and are greedy for wanting eternal bliss.

My wife and I both work, so we split the cooking duties each night. We love to cook things together. We take turns doing prep, depending on which of us is cooking our "specialty" that night.

Our adopted son and daughter set the table. We pray before we eat. They clear the table after we eat.

Tonight the daughter will be at Awana. The son works teaching younger children at Awana.

They both read above their grade level and get good grades in school. They're polite. The little one sings in church choir.

My grown daughters were raised in the church. One is an RN. The other is a Vet Tech.

They are polite, responsible, pay their bills, have good credit, have money in the bank, nice cars, clean driving records, no issues with substance abuse. They are loving, giving and caring. They were raised in the church, the same way my two adopted kids are being raised now.

What a horrible, horrible thing I have done to them. If only I could see them nightly on the news, doing something important like crapping in the gutter and throwing bricks at cops at OWS or Occupy Oakland. Then I could really be proud of them.

Frying pan

If I'm right, the reward in the afterlife is certainly worth it.

If I'm wrong, I lived a good life, and taught my kids some good stuff that made them good adults and good members of society.

Can't find the downside.

Snow yells "Look at me!!"

I grew up in an evangelical church too you know. Who said you are doing a horrible job with your kids? No one.

With the exception of the church thing you could be describing our family as well. You talk as if you think the way you raised your kids is the 'best' way. You sound like an arrogant prick.

There are quite a few people throughout history that actually broke lots of laws, fought against immoral laws and immoral leadership that I consider great. Some even have holidays reserved for them. If either of my kids were to follow in their footsteps I would be extremely proud of them for not caving to what's 'normal' but instead fighting for what is just.

Porn = procreation?

You are just another one of those part time Catholics who pick and choose what they think is moral or not while still trying to take the moral highground on other issues and use the church to back up your position. In other words, hypocrite.

Catechism of the Catholic Church:

"Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials." Section 2354

And I respect my wife more than to talk about her like you talk about your wife. Now girlfriends from years past, different story, but I'm getting older and my memory is fading. So long ago that was.

I thought sex was just to procreate.. thus birth control etc are all bad. It's nice to know its ok because the chick on chick action in porn is actually an attempt to procreate. cool. I thought I was the only one who rationalized thingsw to make them fit my religion rather than being 100% on board.
