Eh. Not much difference between a dead guy and a guy who just voted "Present" all the time.

I'll take Dead Presidents for $500.

Don't know b/c we didn't get Kennedy long enough, but Kennedy beat Nixon in 1960 (albeit by a razor thin margin).

But is commonly accepted by us in the know that Daddy Joe fixed enough districts to propel Jack to Victory.

Crikey, I would be perfectly happy if today's Demotards had the sense to cut taxes like JFK did. (even if it was only a populist ploy)

First, what's with the tendency for those on the right to change Democrat or Democratic to 'Demotards' 'Demonrats' or whatever else? It's what little kids do.

Second, the highest tax rate when Kennedy took office was over 90%, at that rate even the Democratic party would be cutting it today. Now it's 35%, huge difference. Of course no one actually paid 90%, just like no one actually pays 35% if they have any brains at all.

I'd still like to know how this inept "war hero" managed to get his PT109 run over by a much slower Japanese Destroyer.
According to the movie I saw when I was a kid, Kennedy managed to single-handedly rescue his crew members & then bang Monroe later that night too!!
Shades of John Kerry and to some degree John McLame, Batman! Well, at least they propped him up so he could stare down the hideous, little, fat, shoe- banging on UN podium, Roossian.

Nixon was a brilliantly strange man altogether... Accomplished some great things but lacked common sense and ignored boundaries of propriety. I'll never forget those silly White House Guard uniforms he introduced- right out of a 3rd World HS marching band.

Kennedy was right for the time. Broke through the religion factor of electing a Catholic. Championed integration. Cuban Missile Crisis...

Nixon was great for his time too: China and Russia. Escalated Vietnam, but later de-escalated...

Apples to Oranges- if you ask me.

Think

JFK was in favor of drawing down the number of troops in the Vietnam conflict.

His handling of the Cuban missle crisis was flawed. Oh he stared down the USSR and THEY blinked but what we did in regards to the Bay of Pigs was shameful and a disgrace.

He wasn't a big supporter of the Federal Reserve either and between him and his brother made organized crime a huge target.

With all of those going against him...no wonder he had his brains blown out by high powered rifles.

Applause His brother Bobby was a real piece of work as well.
We'll never know for sure in our lifetime thanks to Specter & LBJ's Warren Commission. But Oswald by himself doesn't add up.

uh oh.

you said "hypocrite".

You're gonna get an earfull now. Fuzzy don't understand that it's entirely possible to call someone a hypocrite without therefore being one yourself. Catch 22 type thingy.

I suggest feigning a heart attack now, lest you be bombarded by nonsensical fluff until your eyes bleed.

Heh, the teabaggers used the term first as an accident because they didn't know what the term meant. 'Teabag them before they teabag us', a popular sign early on.

Kennedy inherited Bay of Pigs from Ike, The plan was well in motion when he took over, and he did not pull the plug. Back then there was cooperation between the major parties.

Nixon was one of if not the major blocker of relations with China his entire career in Congress and as VP prior to his Presidency. The McCarthy stink still hung over those Nixon denounced as commie sympathizers and commie lovers...until it became a great opportunity for his legacy...which he f'ed up due to secret government, spying, enemy lists, general paranoia and more.

He won his first term largely on the promise to implement a "plan" to end the war in Viet Nam, he lied and covered up (shocker). The major impetus for withdrawal was the rapidly growing protest movement that started with hippies and students and went mainstream in a couple of years.

Nixon did, however, create the distrust in government that lingers to this day. For that we should be grateful.

It is quite likely that the only Presidents who were faithful to their wives in modern times were Ford and Carter...so much for fidelity as it relates to greatness. At least Kennedy got the sweet babes.

Reagan was a proud "Kennedy Democrat" back then.

Please stop reading elementary educational history books.

Beef up on the Bay of Pigs and what Kennedy did...not Eisenhower's plan, but what Kennedy did when HE executed it. The sad myth that there was ever cooperation between the 2 parties still propagates itself. How it does when the facts are right there I don't know, but it does!

um, I was alive. young, but aware. and the repercussions, discussions and studying of this very signifant early 60's event stayed relevant even as I became older and even more interested.

put down the revisionist texts, some stuff really happened and many are alive to testify. Some history still lives.

Kennedy did botch The bay of Pigs as well as allow the Berlin Wall to be built and lead to the murder of more Freedom Fightters.

He sucked.
His father sucked
His brothers sucked,

Luckily they're all dead now.

and he disrespected Frank Sinatra, an unforgiveable sin...

The single bullet theory is a load of horse manure.

Watch the film...

You see him lurch forward and grab his throat with both hands. Then you see him whistle back with brain matter exploding.

Ever fire a rifle at a watermelon or cantaloupe?

compare what happened to the melons when you shot a rifle at them to what happened to Kennedy's head.

Quick...which direction did the bullets come from?
