So the Cromagnon has a very disappointing 3.0 VSU. Great flavors (even bought a cube), but damn, the Asian Hooker draw is a killer.

Who gives 2 flying kcuf's about smoke?? This is a stupid thread. Maybe you should just buy the smoke in a jar and forget about the cigar.....save some money.

More smoke equals more pronounced and identifiable flavors IMO. Boo hoo!

That would still be giving it credentials....

Now, you dont want to really do that, do you?

And who in their right mind would want to smoke themselves out?

Gotta love that mouthfeel!

Separately, I had an Emilio Cigars Grimalkin Toro a few days back which was a solid 5.0 VSU. It was the best smoke I've had this year (out of hundreds). I've had many Grimalkins before and they never really did it for me. They came in at 3.5-4.0 on the VSUometer and were just an ok smoke. This one cigar however, was perfect! The great easy smoke output brought out all the great flavors in the cigar that I could never taste before.

This is only the second 5.0 I've had, ever.

And the mouthfeel was a minus 2.

Where exactly are you applying this Preperation H......and does it intensify the WSVU of the cigar. If so could it possibly effect the LDG?????And what about the SCR????????While waiting on the scientific feed back I'll contine to ROTFLMAO at you morons.

Hey WillyV, I think I've figured out the missing factor in all of this. Mouthfeel is ok as to me it is how the amount of smoke feels ( heavy or light ). VSU is good too and can be related by counting the number of smoke rings possible in one draw. ie..10-12 smoke rings = 1.0 VSU. The 7-20-4 I am currently smoking has approx 42 smoke rings per draw which could be assessed as a 3.5 - 4.2 VSU

I've been told I have a big mouth (c'mon, bring it) so I might get less smoke rings and hence, lower VSU if I use that measurement. I've got a 7-20-4 Torp laying around so I'll smoke that and we can compare.

i thought it was a funny concept. and maybe about half true

most cigars that I've smoked, that have a lot of smoke production, have at least been decent. regardless of price range

while at least half of the smokes that didn't have good smoke production, were just meh

YMMV
