Gary Johnson's track record:

Left office with New Mexico as one of the only four states in the country with a balanced budget

Left New Mexico with a budget surplus

Used Line Item Veto thousands of times to trim the budget

Vetoed 750 bills during his time in office; more than all other governors combined

Cut over 1,200 government jobs without firing anyone

Created more than 20,000 new jobs

First New Mexico Governor to challenge education status quo and propose statewide voucher program

Restored State General Fund reserves to more than $222 million from a low of $28.1 million

Limited annual state budget growth to 5.0% during eight years in office

Cut taxes 14 times while never raising them—a first for New Mexico

Vetoed 32% of the total number of bills submitted for his signature

If Ron Paul doesn't get the Republican nomination, I will absolutely be voting for Governor Johnson. And yes, I realize he has no chance of winning and my vote would be a "protest vote".

I'll be voting for the Libertarian candidate, unless Paul gets the Repub nomination. The only scenario that I would consider an Obama vote, is if Gingrich is the opponent. Then my vote for Obama would be a protest against the Repubs knowingly trying to feed me a guy so corrupt, he makes Clinton look pure.

One way or another, I too am a protest voter.

So true really. If I were a Republican I would be pissed right now. I'm a Democrat and only slightly less pissed at our choice, but in comparison to Newt? No contest in any way. After years of trying the economy is finally improving and one can only wonder how much better it would be had Obama fought for more of his policies and Congress approved them.

The real problem is the outrageous and non-sensical attacks the right is making on Obama. You would think he were hitler by the way they are over-playing their hand. The public can see through that bs. What's funny is though, the far right's hatred of Romney is destroying any chance they had by bringing up lefty attacks during the primary. Newt and Romney are very similar when comparing what they are for, Newt is only sounding more conservative because he's being an assh*le.

But if he polls high enough, he can get into a few debates. We need a viable 2nd party to challenge the Republicrats and Demublicans.

For me, this election isn't about winning. Obama is going to get a 2nd term. The media has guaranteed this. This election is about planting seeds. Then, once this country goes even more down the sh*tter, maybe people will remember guys Like Gary Johnson and Ron Paul and think, "Hey...maybe those guys weren't crazy like the media pundits said they were."

1st off...that's not gonna happen! Hell, they can't even seem to allow everyone that's ON a ballot the time necessary to complete an original thought on an issue. Most of the time both parties vie to exclude people from the D or R! There's NO WAY a 3rd or 4th party candidate is going to get on a stage with the "annointed" ones.

Your 2nd point is dead on. Rather than just sit it out, I'll vote for this guy. Just because. There's no difference with any of them except for one.

I'm not voting for the "lesser of 2 evils" ever again. Been there, done that. Seeing how it's going...what a long swirlling ride down the toilet this nation has taken since I've been alive. Just wow.
