Fact That No One Likes Him May Be Hurting Romney
Could Foil Bid to Become First Openly Assholic President

DENVER (The Borowitz Report) – Exit polls from last night’s Republican contests reveal that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney’s key obstacle to gaining the GOP nomination is the fact that voters cannot stand him.

According to Davis Logsdon, who conducted the polls for the University of Minnesota’s Opinion Research Institute, “Despite his superb organization, funding, and ground game, Mitt Romney is having trouble overcoming the perception among voters that he is a ginormous ******.”

Mr. Logsdon said that these obstacles “could prove fatal to his historic bid to become the nation’s first openly assholic President.”

Exit polls taken last night bear out that theory, with a majority of voters agreeing with the statement, “I think Mitt Romney is so odious, I would rather vote for a random doofus I’ve never heard of who goes around in sweater vests.”

The beneficiary of that sentiment last night was former Sen. Rick Santorum, who told supporters at a victory rally in Missouri, "I support the rights of the unborn child until it's born and wants a gay marriage."

Speaking to supporters in Denver, Mr. Romney uttered what some political experts are calling a possible gaffe: “I don’t care about all the people who didn’t vote for me. They just envy my massive wealth. And poor people? They can curl up die, and I won’t lose a wink of sleep. I bet you a million crisp dollars from my vault in Geneva.”

mitt has been praying for an answer to the question "why don't people like me? ]
god said "i don't know why, but there is something about you that pisses me off too

I remembered why I don't watch Letterman anymore the other night... He was pretty harsh on Romney.. and he's not even president yet.. Letterman is obviously paranoid... Mellow

It could be because He is a progressive and is on video stating it. He installed OBAMNEYCARE first and Obama copied off of him. He installed leftist liberal judges while Governer. His defense of the progressive agenda in his Administration is that the people wanted it, If he can't defend positions then on the state level, how will he do it as president?

He has had chance after chance to distance himself from past choices and he won't. If he's the Nom. I will vote for him. It is the lesser of two evils as always.

Even Ron Paul would win if he looked like a Hawk on Defense, but He won't. I do not understand these politicians. They don't have to do anything other than say, "yes, Romneycare was a bad idea, and I should not have done it." and he would gain great traction. Ron Paul could say, "I will defend this country against all foes aggressively." and he would possibly win.

Ron Paul will defend the country. I think you have defense and offense confused. Common mistake.

I'm not saying that he would not, I am saying that is the overwhelming opinion reached by almost everyone I talk to about Paul. If he would pound that in I think people would give him the job.

They just aren't articulating well. Ron Paul is a bit of an isolationist and does not believe in militarily imposing the USA's will on other countries or using the US military to advance a globalist agenda.

Some people's idea of defense is sorta like an Italian walking down the street with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve looking at people saying "Hey, you looking at me? You wanna fight? Right now, make a move."

People want a president that will kick @$$ when the need arises. Reagan did not look like an aggressive man, but they knew he would defend us against all comers.

China is building a huge deep water navy, they are a threat, Russia is not our friend as Putin wants the USSR back. Iran's leaders have a death wish. the Saudis don't like us.

Our way of life is unique in history and it goes against the grain of the Oligarchies & strong-man style of governments in most other countries, regardless of what they call themselves. I think people know that and they want a leader willing to defend us.

So do you actually think some of the presidential candidates would not defend the USA if it were attacked by China, Russia, Iran or Saudi Arabia? We would just hand them the keys?

Or are you looking for a candidate who would have no problem firing the fire shot against any of those countries if he/she got the urge?

Again, defense versus offense.

Rick18- if you need any help with the facts below I can point you towards some great books.
the Republican Party was founded by anti-slavery activists, in contrast to the pro-slavery Democratic Party. Abraham Lincoln, a Republican President, won the Civil War and freed the slaves.
In 1922, Democrats in the Senate filibustered a Republican attempt to make lynching a federal crime.
FDR nominated former Klansman Hugo Black to the Supreme Court.
George Wallsce was a progressive democrat.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964? That's where the Democrats showed their open minds and Republicans were proven to be racists. Right? Wrong. 82% of Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 versus only 64% of Democrats.
Susan B Anthomy was a republican. Here's a quote from her,  “I voted for the Republicans. They gave us the vote”.
A Democrat controlled senate defeated the passage of the 19th amendment four times. A republican controlled house had to pass it.
Thirty-six states ratified the Amendment. Twenty-six states had Republican legislatures and ratified the Amendment. Nine states voted against its ratification—eight of those states had Democratic legislatures.
Even before the Amendment was part of the Constitution, twelve states, all with Republican congresses, had conferred suffrage rights on women.

All of that is well and good, and I'ma gonna let ya finish...BUT...he lived it!

Not only that but he had to be put in barracks as some pseudo ethnic/religious experiment the Industrial Military Complex was conducting. Many gave some...some gave all. Iced tea and lemonade that is.

DMV #24 - I've lived all of the open-mindedness of the progressives. At every turn they promise one thing and deliver the opposite. I see it as coming Down to no respect for human life. Equals do not need to be controlled so heavy as the dems want to control us. They believe all are beneath them and need their control. Ain't no hatred like a liberal progressive's hatred, cause a liberal progressive's hatred don't stop.
