Poles outraged over Obama's words on death camps

WARSAW, Poland — Poles are expressing outrage at President Barack Obama for referring to "Polish death camps" during a ceremony honoring a World War II hero but some say they hope the blunder will help clarify the sensitive issue to the world.

The phrasing is considered hugely offensive in Poland, where Nazi Germany murdered Poles, Jews and others in death camps during World War II. Poles were considered an inferior race by Hitler and had no role in running the camps.

Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski called Obama's words an "outrageous mistake."

Former President Lech Walesa said Wednesday the phrase confused henchmen with their victims but that Obama's blunder might prevent similar statements by others.

The White House said the president "misspoke" Tuesday in bestowing the Medal of Freedom posthumously on Jan Karski.

I'm still upset that Obama bowed (even though there is video of other presidents (Bush etc) doing so) as per traditionand respect yet even more upset that Chewbacca touched the Queen (everyone knows that goes against tradition and respect).

I see no contradiction there and it has nothing to do with whether I like those people (they are different than me) or not.

discuss amongst yourselves untill you are in a petulant frenzy

I'm in a petulant frenzy.... I'm petulant and in a frenzy

Where?

I'd LOVE to see that video! The lefty shill media wudda had a freaking field day with that! Because he was hold the hand and arm of an aged Haus of Saud royalty member he got called a ****!

Bowing goes against all protocol! His handlers knew that and he was told that. His upbringing and anti-Americanism is what made him install a hinge on his spine and grovel! That pic of Sarkozy LAUGHING in the background and Owedumba is starring at the Saud's shoes is an image I'll NEVER forget!

http://www.usnews.com/dbimages/master/10457/FE_DA_090409publicopinion.jpg

He showed the world that the office was smaller than the man for the very first time. Look at ALL of their faces as they witness an American President humble himself before foreign royalty! Shameful!

The first one involves the pope. Bush wasn't genuflecting as a world leader, but as a spiritual follower. You may as well chastize him for performing the signs of the Cross during mass.

The second appears to be bowing his head to accept a medal of some sort.

The third is Bush senior merely bending over to look at the midget next to him.

Fuzzy, I've read your stuff. I know you can do better than this.

I don't give a fkcu who bows to who, who kisses who or who holds whose hands or touches who where. The only thing that matters is that important ties remain strong and political doors remain open. The rest is a bunch of crap people use to fill their void lives with pseudo-political bullchit.

I know. The fine lines really begin to change if a bow begins progressing to a blow-job... depending upon the amount of oil and T-Bills involved. But, I have something of much less significance to concern myself with right now: My psuedo-vegetarian wife thinks she is going to grill my steak dinner for me... over my my medium-rare dead body.

OK. No propane left in the grill because someone left it on after cooking her salmon the other night. So, my carnivorous daughter is pepper and pan-frying the steaks.

And, I have some more time to discuss nuances- like the nomenclature of the WWI Nazi Polish Extermination... er... uh make that... Concentration Camps. I am really worried about the Poles being offended and deteriorating relations between Poland and the U.S. as a result. Aren't you too?

I'll get my brother in law in on this conversation. He's written a couple books on Poland particularly concentrating on the early 20th century, but mostly having to do with their relationship with Russia/Soviet Union. I think, it's boring as f*ck.

Poland and Poles had to have known those camps were there. They had to have seen the infrastructure. They had to have seen the trains coming in... They had to have smelled the burning flesh. So, screw them on the whole to the extent they were complicit and to the extent that they have a long pre-World-war II history of abusing, killing and stealing from Polish Jews- and are still bitterly hateful of them to this very day. Having said that, Israel and the American Jewish socio-political establishment have given Poland some slack on the nomenclature- probably in order to move simply move a bit forward...

Now, as to any of your pansy family members who may think they are scholars or have any credibility at all on anything- please remind them that you are a looser who lays on your couch all day long and are so void of rational thought that they obviously are tainted by your mere reference to them. I should know; I spend most of my time lying down and only work part time and my wife works full-time because I am a total leach too. After all, that is the only possible conclusion supporting the hyperbolic blather form those who shouldn't throw rocks at glass houses...

Whenever I drive through cedar rapids I knew ther was a Quaker oats plant. It was smelly yet different than the meat packing plants in Waterloo and Sioux city.

We all sort of knew they were there.

Folgers is in KC. Crappy coffee but it smells good in the morning.

A Pole, English, and French guy are running away from the German
soldiers when they come up to a forest and they decide to hide by each
climbing a tree. When the Germans arrive, they go to the first tree
where the English guy is, and shout, "We know you're up there; come
down."

The English guy, thinking fast, says, "Twit, twit, twit..."
The Germans, thinking that it's a bird, move on to the next
tree where the French guy is and once again shout, "We know you're up
there; come down."
The French guy, thinking fast, says, "Woo, woo, woo..."
The Germans, thinking that it's an owl, move on to the next
tree where the Polish guy is and once again shout, "We know you're up
there; come down."
The Polish guy thinks for a while and then says, "Moo, moo,
moo..."

Q: How do you take census in a Polish village?
A: Roll a quarter down the street, count the legs, divide by two, and
subtract one for the Jew who catches it.

I definitely am missing Bill these days. Now that he's retired, it becomes increasingly clear how sharp he really is.
And, I would still GLADLY take Hillary over McCain, Obama and Romney!!!

Rumblings are that if the economy/job picture stagnates or worsens, O would drop Big Mouth and add Hillary to the ticket...

They'll say similar things about Obama when the next Democratic president comes along too. "He/She's making me miss Obama!"

Clinton was a murderer, drug smuggler, anti-American yada yada back then too. This time the neanderthals are throwing in muslim and terrorist too because it's the scarey thing of the moment, and race. With Kerry it was 'French' for some reason.
