Rick,
Not sure what he plans to do since I try to avoid TV. But, I do know this: It's not the government's job to take care of the people. I believe it's the people's job, along with each State, to govern and watch out for each other. I don't think the government owes me anything and all I want it to do is maintain good order and discipline and provide a defense for teh country.
It's not Romney's or Obama's job to "take care of" the middle or lower class. And, it's not the Supreme Courts job to decide it's a "tax" rather than a "fine." I don't understand this mentality of "what are they going to do for me." The big thing is "what are you going to do for yourself and your fellow man."
Please, no more government, no more promises, no more handouts (except in the most critical cases). When I say "critical cases" I mean where someone isn't capable. Getting pregnant and having 5 kids isn't critical. If you can't feed 5 you shouldn't have them. And, I don't think being fat is a handicap and should take up handicap spaces where those with real ailments (paralyzed, crippled, etc).
Why do you think it's the governments job to do so much? Why do the liberals feel it's necessary to give handouts to everyone? Why do many feel the government owes them? I think these are the real questions. I would support a President that said "no more handouts to those capable." I think Welfare, foodstamps, and other handouts should be given to those who work for it. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
