O quote
"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. "

He's right.

...And I pay an absolutely RETARDED amount of taxes every year to use those roads, bridges, and the internet. I've paid my price of admission, what I have I've earned because I've worked harder (went to bed at 5:15 this morning because I was up all night on a Saturday working -- average week for me is between 60-75 hours), taken risks, been smart about where I've put myself, never blamed anyone else for anything stupid I've done or failed to do, and quite frankly, gotten a couple of lucky breaks. Right place, right time, with the right answer. Oh, and here's one other thing: Every job I've had since I got out --every one of those lucky breaks I caught-- I can directly attribute to my military service. Thank you Army.

That's right, I VOLUNTEERED to defend the constitution of this country against all enemies foreign and domestic. I live in chronic pain due to injuries received while jumping out of airplanes and humping 100 pounds on my back up and down mountains. My peers went to frat parties and committed date rape while I was in overseas wondering if I'd ever come home. Now they cry that life isn't fair. Eff them. Work harder and quit expecting it to be given to you.

I've been poor. Really and truly at-or-below-the-poverty-line poor. When I first got out I supported a family on an eight dollar an hour job and burned through every penny of my savings to get an education. I didn't like it. So I worked my ever loving a$$ off and did something about it. Nobody should be promised a free ride, just an opportunity. If you piss away that opportunity, it ain't my problem. The world needs ditch diggers too. Just be content with your forty hour week and your six pack of bud light.

Sorry-- I normally stay away from the political threads but class warfare rhetoric burns my butt.

This is PSYOP 101 people! Literally the very first tool we learned to use to demoralize the enemy was this! Quit allowing yourself to be brainwashed by the "not fair" arguments.

Nah... Willful ignorance, strawman arguments, and toe-the-party-line nanny statism without a moments consideration of second and third order effects are f*ckimg hilarious.

It at least they would be if there wasn't such a significant percentage of the population who bought into it.

So you admit a 'life is unfair to me' rant, you just don't find it funny like I do?

I can see that.

Yes, Romney saved the olympics. Only required a $600,000,000.00 bailout from the US taxpayers. Cheap compared to the banking industry! Bargain!

Bingo.

However you do realize that at this very moment all over this land, millions of socialist parasites are crying themselves to sleep on comfy beds inside comfy homes that someone else paid for, all because the rest of us are just too selfish to give them even more for doing absolutely nothing...

im not sure how to respond to this. i cant tell how it is intended. Not everyone needs to be in the army, thank you for serving but i am not sure you were out "defending" the constitution while fighting in iraq or afghanland. those were engineered wars for the sake of employment and business that have cost thousands of lives and destroyed many more lives and families. it sounds like you are a hard working, tough guy. i am pretty confident you would have done well no matter if you had gone into the army or not. why did you have to pay for your education if you were in the army? i read last week we have 800,000 vets currently in college at gov expense.

Like you said, we need guys to dig ditches, we need guys to fight, we need guys to manage, dr's, trash guys, sales guys etc. we cant all be rich, i went to college but sure as hell didnt commit date rape, i was in a fraternity but only because my dad moved overseas and my mom isnt around and i had no where to stay so i joined a fraternity b/c it was $300 a month for my room, cable, internet, washer/dryer. Im not crying that life isnt fair, i too got through my situation, put myself through college and am paying my bills.

lastly, nothing i said is meant as an assault on military or vets. i will always support the guys in the trenches and show them the respect they deserve even if i disagree with the war. the politicians are the ones who told them to go. they are just doing as they are told. i have a lot of friends who are there or have been there and we talk regularly. not one says we are in a winnable situation or are even doing much good.

Does Obama have an original thought? Here’s the Native American Elizabeth Warren in 2011.

"You built a factory out there? Good for you," she says. "But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did."

I haven't heard Obama be brave enough yet to explain himself, but I have heard this excuse from his minions.

And it's a f*cking joke.

Those same roads and bridges are used to bring welfare checks to tomorrows democrats, and they didn't even pay towards them. I don't hear ol' Barry complaining about that.

You tell a business owner, who took financial risks and put a burden on his family during the long hours required to succeed, and you tell him that he didn't do but the gub-ment did it? Because of a frikken ROAD???
F*ck obama.
Worthless POS.

You want to go on another apology tour? Start by saying sorry to hard working Americans who pay your tab.

In an interview with WCTV-TV in Tallahassee that aired Friday, Obama said: "What I said was together we build roads and we build bridges."

He added: "That's the point I've made millions of times, and by the way, that's a point Mr. Romney has made as well, so this is just a bogus issue."

Yeah, because the war in Afghanistan had *nothing* to do with people slamming planes into buildings, or whatnot.

It was all "engineered." For "employment," of all things.

Seriously, are you able to effectively breathe on your own with that vicious amount of brain-damage, or are you using one of Idi Amin Jr.'s "Breathalyzers"?

LMAO.

This coming from the idiot who is always trying to convince us that every lame-brain liberal idea should be done for "fairness."

Fuzz, you of all people should be the last to criticize someone due to fairness. Then again you are a raging hypocrite, so I can understand why you have absolutely no clue as to how idiotic this post of yours is.

To everyone else: In Fuzzland, poor people are poor not because a vast majority of them make bad life choices, or because they choose not to work hard. No, in the demented world of Fuzz, poor people are poor because rich people are rich.

And rich people are rich because they screw-over poor people, or that they always inherit their wealth, or what not. So they much be punished for making wealth. They don't actually hire people, they don't invest their money, they don't do anything productive. They sit around on piles of wealth with guarddogs to watch their accumulated riches...kinda like Smaug in The Hobbit.

Products like flat-screen TVs actually get made by Keebler elves, and distributed once a year by Santa Calus (who, in Fuzzland, looks surpisingly like Josef Stalin...but I digress).

Oh, and if any of those poor people actually DO get a job, well, they N-E-V-E-R advance themselves. They are born poor, they live poor, and they die poor.

So, in the eyes of someone as demented as Fuzz, the rich need to be taxed at exceptional levels to make things "fair." Anyone who dares mock this notion, in turn, needs to be mocked.

A lot of Fuzz's dementia has to do with the fact that he's left the workaday world to raise kids - which is a noble effort. In doing so, however, he obviously gave up the portion of his brain that allows him to think stuff through...or maybe it rotted away, no one really knows. Because if he had that portion brain still there, he'd know the following:

1) The irony of the whole "you didn't build that business on your own" quote comes from a guy who has never owned a business, and had done nothing productive in his entire career.

2) That the amen chorus of people applauding that comment are basically parasites, losers, and other degenerate who have never done anything productive in their life either.

3) We've had three years of Idi Amin Jr.'s "vision" for America, and things are crappier now then when the idiot took office.

4) The notion of fairness and equity means that stuff is evenly applied to all people, and I don't see any poor people giving up a third ot a half of their income via income tax.

5) That the people who ride what I call the "Train of We" talk a lot about how "we have done this," and "we have done that," where 10% of the people included in the word "we" were actually the people who made things happen, and the other 90% (Fuzz included) sat on their a**, got high, and did nothing.

6) The same socialist mentality that Idi Amin Jr. holds is the same socialist mentality that permeates Europe, and they are coming apart at the seams.

7) The driver that made this country great was not an indentured subclass of poor who need help from the government to better their lives, but the fact that we (once) had a classless society up until unions came along, and the poor could go from being poor to extremely wealthy base on tanacity, hard work, and a little ingenuity.

I'd also like to point out how idiots like Fuzz mention that Henry Ford didn't make cars until we had roads, which is an outright lie. The first cars were made to work offroad. People seem to forget that the campaign to capture Pancho Villa was the first formal mechanized military operation in this country, and it was done virtually offroad.

One can almost excuse Fuzz for living in a world of delusion. In fact, Fuzz will nod along with the other idiots in that Idi Amin Jr. Amen chorus...until one day the government decides that how he live is unfair to the rest of society (you know, sitting around, smoking dope, and being stupid). Then he'll go into hyper chimp-screaming mode about "government intrusion," because Fuzzland will be invaded by the result of his mindless complacency.

The Soviets, I believe, called people like Fuzz "useful idiots."

Poor people are poor in this country because, for the most part, they make bad cholces in life. The net wealth of virtually rich people is in investments that actually produce something (or else they become poor very, very quickly). The only thing that is fair is the fact that one day, Fuzz will reap the bitter fruits of the spupidity has sown.

He's an atheist. He doesn't in divine punishment. All the better for me to watch when it actually happens.

Jimminy Crickets. Spend ten or twelve hours off the board doing work and an entire turd-tornado forms.

Maybe I'll come back to this mess later and maybe I won't. Quick comment though: I have NEVER advocated that everyone join the military. That was a good opportunity for ME. Also, due to paperwork screw ups (very common back before the internet) I never got ONE RED CENT of the GI Bill. Much less $80k. Also, I've been out since 99 cause I'm old and stuff and haven't participated in this last round of unpleasantness. At least, not in uniform. I do however, spend every day trying to make the Government more efficient, cheaper, and safer for our service members. Its what I do, and probably will do until I retire for good.

I think papa C may have been referring to your post where you talk about your military career and add "while my peers were drinking and gang raping" or something like that.
This could certainly be taking to imply that if you don't go to miliary that you're just an educated stumble bum.
Given the context of the remainder of your post, I didn't read it like this. But afte papa's rant I reread your post and recognized this excerpt as a possible point of contention.

Either way, the specifics don't matter.

Obama is continuing his class warfare campaign strategy. And the stupid people will buy it hook line and sinker.

This president is a freakin idiot. First he gives amnesty to a bunch of people that broke and continue to break the law. He rewards them with cash, food, and health benefits. Plus adds hundred of thousands more to be eligible for unemployment and welfare benefits. Unemployment and Welfare are back-handly & sneakally expanded through a farm act. Again rewarding generations of free-loaders with cash, food, and health-benefits. Nothing is done to prevent the fraud and abuse people implement to take advantage of these programs. Nothing pisses me off more than to see someone pay for hundreds of dollars of food with food stamps, to then see them put it all in their brand new Escalade, with low-raise tires, spinner rims, and rap blaring from an expensive multi-thousand watt stereo. Not to mention instituting the highest tax increase in American history on those that do work, or own businesses and employ people.

Where's that old Ant & Grasshopper fable.

Now this azz of a president tells me the business I have built for the last dozen years, I didn't actually build. And that I should be giving more to the people described above!! Are you freakin kidding me??? That teacher that helped me in high-school has already been paid. The roads where here before I was born. And I work from home, so I barely use the freakin roads anyway!!! And I thought Al Gore invented the internet. The NSA just monitors it.

This is Hope and change I can do without! My only hope is that someone takes this guy out - fast. And Pelosi too!!! Now that's a change I could live with.
Another four years of this guy and the country will be ruined beyond repair.
