Joe Biden did it again.
He's making Dan Quayle look like an accomplished speaker. I have to shake my head when I remember all the democrats who voted for their ticket "because Palin was too dumb".

This time, joltin' Joe pandered to the south while invoking a wholly racial topic.

"they're (the GOP) going to put y'all back in chains."

His apology will most likely be something like "I'd like to say sorry to you people"

I doubt Joe is a racist. This comment was most assuredly just a stupid choice of words.

Mainstream media will mostly gloss over it as a misstep.
Some will debate whether it's a racist comment.
None will go so far as to call Joe Biden Racist.
But can you even begin to imagine if this was uttered by Paul Ryan or Mitt?

Romney Deriding Biden for 'Back in Chains' Remark

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says Vice President Joe Biden's comment that Republicans would put voters "back in chains" is a sign of an "angry and desperate" presidency.

Romney plans to tell voters Tuesday night in Chillicothe, Ohio, that the vice president's comments represent an "outrageous charge" that disgraces the office of the presidency.

Biden made the comments earlier in the day in Danville, Va., while saying that Republicans want to deregulate Wall Street — or, as Biden put it, to "'unchain Wall Street."

Hundreds of black people were in the audience when Biden added, "They're going to put y'all back in chains."

During a stop in Wytheville, Va., Biden said he meant to say "unshackled," but he did not apologize. Instead, he mocked the Romney campaign for its outrage.

I VERY seriously doubt that 40% of your income goes to federal tax. If it is, you must be making many, many millions of dollars.

Listen. Every candidate will also make gaffes and mistakes. It will get a day or two of play then die out like Romney having his fundraise in Miami at the business of a convicted drug dealer.*

* I use the drug dealer example , not to dig or attack Romney, but just to give an example how quickly most of the little **** drops off the radar in a day or two...

Add up all the taxes you pay. You might be surprised. On the bright side, the USA tax burden is still lower than what is common in Europe.....for now.

Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,
Old times there are not forgotten,
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.

In Dixie Land, where I was born in,
early on one frosty mornin',
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.

I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie Land I'll take my stand
to live and die in Dixie.
Away, away, away down south in Dixie.
Away, away, away down south in Dixie

HD you are right. However, I think Robert was referring to income taxes. If you add fuel tax, sales tax, cigar tax, property tax, state income tax, etc. then likely will get close.

as a percentage of my AGI for 2011 I paid just under 10% in combined federal and state income tax.

Calling Republicans dumb (and out touch) has been kit 'n parcel of the Democrat attack machine for decades.

Biden is very, very dumb but he pales (literally & figuratively) when he stands next to folks like Maxine Waters & the imbecile (Johnson?) who said Guam might tip over...

I suspect that since the left cannot attack the brainy Republican Ryan VP for stupidity or for being out of touch, he will now be labeled as a hook- nosed Irish "extremist" who wants to hurt people...jester

His use of the word "y'all" sounded strained & unatural. Obviously pandering to the audience in North Carolina, er Virginia . . .

So you're saying that simply using the term "shackles" is the same?

Look. I don't think Joe is racist. I think he's simply an idiot.
But you can't possibly compare the two comments.

Biden: 'Folks, Where's it Written We Cannot Lead the World in the 20th Century in Making Automobiles?'

In a speech today in Virginia, Vice President Joe Biden seemed to forget we're in the 21st century:

'Folks, where's it written we cannot lead the world in the 20th century in making automobiles?," said Biden.

UPDATE: Ryan Williams, a spokesman for the Romney campaign, responds: “Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will ensure America leads the world in the 21st century by strengthening middle-class families and creating jobs. President Obama and Vice President Biden have taken our nation backward with failed policies that have resulted in higher unemployment, more debt, and a weaker economy. A campaign based on rage and divisiveness can’t hide the president’s failed record.”

PS: Joe...GM isn't #1 anymore either!

Which is why Plugs O'Biden is out there doing his bosses job. Owedumba can't talk about the "good" he's done for this nation, because he hasn't done a single thing! So send old man dumbass out there without a script and let 'em rip!

I saw today where someone is floating that the Kenyan King is going to drop this walking tool bag and put Ms. Pantsuit Clinton in the VP slot...Don't think THAT hasn't been said out loud on the White House grounds more than once!Sarcasm

Biden was dog-whistling. He meant exactly what he said and it was carefully considered for his audience. Right down to the inflection in his voice.

Obama can't say that, but Biden can be the stooge to everyone else while delivering a targeted message to a targetted demographic.

Pure political theatre. Seems to have worked too.

WTF does that comment even mean?

Your selective memory is a real problem Robert.

You want drug decriminalization and had NOOOO problem voting for a guy that admittedly smoked weed and did coke but because a Republican handed out juice at a juice bar...that was owned by a convicted drug dealer that the Secret Service vetted...now you have a problem?

Keep on carrying the water for Biden!
