The Polls traditionally reflect real opinion the last couple weeks of a campaign rather than trying to influence opinion, which they try to do in the months and weeks before ...

Evening news had a couple polls (NBC and one other) Both had Obama up by 1-3%, in popular vote.

Took a good look at Rasmussen's daily poll today and it seems that Romney is now slightly ahead in Florida and has made up some ground in Ohio. All within the margins of error. Looks like Michigan still rejects Romney.

IIRC, only 2% of the popular vote is undecided. But, the real analysis to look at is of the electoral college, which is still not sufficiently predictable for analysis.

Having written all that, I think it will be over for Obama after tomorrow night if he doesn't show well. If he does show well, he will improve in the polls and gain more votes, but not enough to call the election a lock like it looked 10-14 days ago. If Romney totally blows Obama away tomorrow night, it is over by the end of the week. the third debate won't mean a thing. Gonna be interesting.

If the election were today, it would be a nail-biter, but i think Obama would eek out a win. All things considered, the economy is the sole issue that controls this election. Historically, Obama should lose as the incumbent during this prolonged, terrible recession (a la Bush1). This is not to take anything away from Romney...

The murder and cover up of our diplomats will be the issue in tomorrow's debate

If the mid-term elections were any indication, the upcoming presidential election will be another debacle for the Democrats.

In this blue-collar union town, I have yet to see even one Obama yard sign. Last presidential election they were all over the place. Not one now. Plenty of Romney/ Ryan signs though.

You are right about Disney. Orange County's original name was Mosquito County...

(But, the historical secret of Orlando is that it used to be very heavily saturated with defense research and product development- and still is- missile control, night vision, OCR, turbines, etc. were developed here.)

I think Romney is down in Pennsylvania by 5 points almost within the margin of error (4.5 points) At least that is what Rassmussen's poll of last week indicates. he really needs to step it up there.

No, but my brother, who has a degree in linguistics might enjoy correcting our writings. I'll get him to take a look at this part of the thread.

It would be a full time job.
I read here in, that one should never respond to another’s correction of his writing, spelling, grammar. With all deference to my friend Wheel, it is the content that makes the posting. Small details are the hob-goblin of a small mind.
Still wheel in a good fencer – the subject is of no matter.

Well, looks like the popular vote is Romney's to lose... 77% chance of winning it at this time.

Most interesting thing about this model is that it largely ignores all the political noise around the election, and just focuses on the current situation. The fact that it's always accurate is an indication that all this crap we are suffering through is meaningless.
