I think this is one of the more interesting facts about highly divisive discourse. Additionally it is likely the reason we're completely screwed on politics.

I'm not surprised at all.

Snippet thinking and popular tv commercials have ruined critical thinking skills. The constant bombardment has created this herd mentality shift on issues. Like a cow chewing on their cud...lifting their head to say "Moooo", our society is doing the same.
