So things like this dont happen.
If Illinois had a concealed carry law then lawmakers wouldn't have to be fictionally carried on the books as an employee of a security firm so they can carry.
So we are to believe that a state senator needs this gig for extra money, really?
Those of us in Illinois are so screwed.

A Democratic state senator who is seeking former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s congressional seat was arrested Wednesday at O'Hare International Airport after trying to board an aircraft to Washington, D.C., with a gun, authorities said.

Sen. Donne Trotter, of Chicago, was expected to spend the night in a Northwest Side police lockup and appear in bond court Thursday. Police said they found an unloaded .25-caliber Beretta in his garment bag along with a clip containing six live rounds.

The South Side lawmaker told authorities that he worked late Tuesday night as a security guard for Allpoints Security and Detective Inc. and had packed his bag early Wednesday morning. Trotter, who has the proper permits and licenses to carry a firearm for security work, told officials he forgot the gun and clip were in the bag.

Not sure how this is connected Illinois law. It appears he may have to see the federal magistrate here. IIRC, airports fall under FAA.

Not sure either but Illinois does not have a CC law, only way is to be a cop or with an armed security service.

Funny that a political hack has a connection with a security firm, claiming that he was working the night before. Why does a senator need to work at a security firm, we dont pay him enough? Not enough graft coming his way? Should not be a problem as he is connected to the MACHINE.

He is a ghost employee that is carried on the books just so he can carry.

If I could leave this state I would, what a bunch of criminals.

Just a small correction. Alaska allows concealed carry for anyone that can legally own a firearm with no permit. The usual applies, not in banks, state or federal buildings or bars. You also have a duty to report concealed carry to law enforcement on contact.
