Finally! Received one of my orders and couldn't wait till I got off my work to enjoy one the cigars but wish I had some Jameson Irish whiskey, but since I'm deployed can't drink till I get back to the states. horse Just wondering what you all like to pair with your cigar?

for me it depends. sounds like alcoholic beverages are off limits to you. if that's the case IMO then a good rich cup of java does the trick. if alcohol isn't off limits my first preference would be Makers Mark, 2nd preference would be a good single malt, like a Bellvieny Double Wood.

Just depends on the state of mind at that moment. Anything between coffee and single malt scotch to include single malt irish whiskey, beer and wine.

Hang in there bro and we appreciate your service.

orange soda

I just read it somewhere, but I try to drink only water with cigars that are new to me. And almost every cigar I smoke is new to my noob ace.

Scotch seems to go well with most cigars.

EDIT: I think I read about orange soda in a Pete Johnson interview...Think

I guess I only mentioned alcohol because that's what I was craving for at the time, but a cup of Joe also does the trick for me.

Bushmill's Black is my choice for Irish Whisky.Anything Balvenie or Macallan's in the Scotch category.Right now I'm having W L Weller Special Reserve with an LFD Double Ligero Chiselito..........would've gone great with just about any bourbon that's not overly sweet.A strong cup of java in the morning with a nice Habano is definitely hard to beat.

Don't normally smoke unless accompanied with a brew.
Depending on the smoke prefer porters & stouts, but those brews are my nemesis. Enjoy them a little too much.

Been enjoying pairings with Cabernet Sauvignon & Ports recently too.

BROther..........DO NOT DRINK diet sodas..............they turn into poison in yer system, plus, I've been steady losing weight for 2 years now, and never gave up my sugary drinks.

The chemistry on Aspartame. et al is horrendous.

But I like the flav combo Num's, lol! I always appreciate you looking out for my health though :) The sugar overpowers the smoke on my pallet, that's all. I agree that the diet sodas are icky on my system though.

Not a big beer drinker so it is more often a Vodka or some kind or I really enjoy some of the different small batch soda's. Saranac Ginger beer, Stewart's Birch Beer or Stewart's Creme Soda..

If its a cigar i have never had, i usually go for ice water as i heard that's the best way to distinguish all the flavors throughout the smoke, otherwise its bourbon (Jack Daniels) or a fine single malt, or Dr. Pepper....

Until today never tried pairing a cigar with a soda, usually always had tried it with a cup of Joe or whiskey, but several of you mentioned Dr. Pepper. So I said oh what the hell and gave it a try and I'm actually glad to say that I found that it does compliment the cigar. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for your service! Hope you get back home soon.

I would pair it with a non-diet soft drink or water - tea also works pretty well for me.

For beer, I like Abita Turbo Dog (or a porter) with the darker smokes, or maybe an IPA. Also like a good port or zin for wines. A decent scotch would be my choice for hard licker.

when I have alcohol it will either be some muscadine wine, bourbon/white whiskey..........otherwise,
I'm with jazzy then, And San Sebastian has an excellent port to pair with most cigars, especially the stronger ones!

I do like Abita root beer on tap with a cigar, goes quite well.

Dr. Pepper enhances the flavors nicely. If I had to smoke my cigars with water, I'd not smoke much.
