"The Senate deal to avoid the "fiscal cliff" will add roughly $4 trillion to the deficit when compared to current law, according to new numbers from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO)." - The Hill

Business as usual it seems. More out of control government spending. At what point do we stop spending ourselves into a hole?

"Over the past few years, the federal government has been recording budget deficits that are the largest as a share of the economy since 1945. Consequently, the amount of federal debt held by the public has surged. By the end of this year, CBO projects that the federal debt will reach roughly 70 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), the highest percentage since shortly after World War II." - Congressional Budget Office

Great deal Rick. Further explode the national debt while continuing to allow the President and Dems to spend like drunken sailors. How could anyone in their right mind oppose such a fantastic plan?

Obviously the current administration will be happy continuing to debase the USD until we're spending $12,000 for a loaf of bread.

Rick,

Congress and the White House have multiplication down pat, it's subtraction they cannot figure out.

Rick reminds me of a naive teenage girl, who thinks that the man living in the big white house, who is showing her interest, whispering sweet nothings into her ear, and making all kind of promises, is in love with her, concerned about her well being, and wants to take care of her for the rest of her life. In reality he just wants to screw her and everyone else. Of course when he's done with her, she finds herself with his child to care for, and ends up in a life of poverty, but the fairytale was wonderful while it lasted.

And, that's exactly why everyone has flown of the handle at Rick for his post

Reminds me of an old joke, not directed at anyone:

Quote:
There was a fly buzzing around a barn one day, when he happened on a pile of fresh cow manure. Due to the fact that it had been hours since his last meal, he flew down and began to eat. He ate and ate and ate.
Finally, he decided he had eaten enough and tried to fly away. He had eaten too much though, and could not get off the ground. As he looked around wondering what to do, he spotted a pitchfork leaning up against the wall. He climbed to the top of the handle and jumped off, thinking that once he got airborne, he would be able to take flight.
Unfortunately, he was wrong and dropped like a rock, splatting when he hit the floor, and died.

The moral to this story is:

“Never fly off the handle when you KNOW you’re full of s__t!”

They could read it after finishing the salad course and before the soup course. Then vote and be back for the prime rib and dessert.

4 TRILLION MORE in debt...awesome!

I wish the GOP had stuck to their guns and done nothing!

Going over the "cliff" would've kept more money in the pockets of those far more deserving.

Of course the prime rib is Fridays and Saturdays only.

According to the five books in Adams trilogy, the answer (42) and the question are mutually exclusive; you cannot know both at the same time. Reminds me of politics . . . .
Yet I buy into it because I believe that the questions you ask are more important than the answers you get.
