Godless liberal sickos win again

CommentsComments(1)Comments(95) | E-mail| PrintYour old-world grandmother will refuse to
believe it. Your Southern cousin will likely shake his head like he’s throwing off lice, completely
unwilling to process. Rick Santorum will, with any luck and God’s good graces, spontaneously
combust. And of course, the NRA will shudder and reload in a panic because, honey, they’re
afraid of everything.

It does not matter. Let the reactions come, the paranoia ensue, the bitter ashes of past injustices
dissipate into the wind. For lo, a raft of hard-fought – and fairly radical – cultural changes hath
finally come, and the changes are good and the changes are righteous and the changes, as MLK
knew and your Republican friends are loathe to admit, are toward the progressive and the just.
You know, just like always.

Perhaps you’ve heard? Perhaps you’ve noticed? The infamous “culture wars” officially declared in
the Reagan era and then hissed forth through the years by everyone from George W. Bush to
Rick Warren, the Tea Party to groupthink megachurches, Rush Limbaugh’s giant mouth to Bill
O’Reilly’s sad little book, Palin and Bachmann and Karl Rove, too, all ultimately landing with an
inglorious splat on poor Rick “please don’t Google my last name” Santorum’s head, the culture
wars of yore are essentially over.

And the Republicans lost.

The culture wars! What a silly idea. What a ridiculous and lopsided fight. All about gay marriage,
women’s rights, pornography, censorship, “elitist” higher education, support for the arts, for
science, immigration, the environment, legal marijuana, gays in the military, a black president,
self-determined spirituality versus the deep poison that is organized religion.

The culture wars! Been around for ages, but most recently determined to mean constricted, God-
fearing, red state “family values” versus “immoral” ‘60-style open-mindedness, all spinning off the
timeless argument that the moral fabric of this great nation would surely be shredded to bits if too
many Americans were allowed to have a free abortion after enjoying joyful sodomy in church with
their college-educated gay husband’s blasphemous public sculpture that looks like a freedom-
loving handgun shaped like a recreational vagina. Or something.

Gay soldiers and women in combat? What’s next, a black president? Oh wait.Evidence of the
GOP’s glorious, ongoing loss? Everywhere and palpable. Gay marriage, to the vast majority of the
nation and certainly to nearly everyone under 30, is a foregone and no-big-deal conclusion. Gays
are now allowed to serve openly in the military and attend military academies (though not, of
course, in the NFL), and now we hear that women have just been given the OK to serve in
combat, too, which of course means we are all doomed – because as everyone knows, women
are too weak and easy to rape, and gays just want to have sex with the enemy.

But never mind that now, because even the numbly prejudiced Boy Scouts are, at the behest of at
least a few very powerful, wealthy donors/members, reconsidering their hateful ban on gays. Can
you hear that? It’s the avidly bigoted South, losing cultural traction by the second.

Would you look at immigration reform? Suddenly back on the table like a Frankenstein monster
getting struck by a miracle bolt of lightning, all due to the fact that the GOP just realized if they
don’t try to make nice with the new multicultural majority that spanked them so hard in the 2012
election, they’ll vanish faster than an ice shelf in Greenland.

On it goes. From environmental awareness to legal pot to abortion rights, movement is toward the
progressive – or at the very least, away from the regressive (not quite the same thing, but in this
climate, you take what you can get). Even many leading Republicans don’t want to discuss the
classic cultural issues that defined them for so long, recognizing them as toxic to their future,
realizing that the younger generations simply don’t believe in the harsh institutions and repressive
dogmas of yore.

They know the nation has changed. Immigrants and women dominate anew, rural values are
metamorphosing, gay culture is here to stay, the gun debate is back in play thanks to far too many
dead children, the church is sour and impotent, you don’t f–k with Planned Parenthood, the arts
are still thriving (well mostly), sexuality is more unfettered and experimental, for better and worse.

Do not misunderstand. It is far from a complete or perfect victory. Many battles remain, many ugly
shards will slice at the veins of the culture for years to come.

Women may be succeeding like never before, but many steadfastly backwards states (hi,
Mississippi) and even US congressmen are so antagonistic to women’s rights they might as well
be Saudi Arabia. Gays may be gaining in every category, but hate crimes persist and the church’s
nasty homophobia is more entrenched than the Vatican’s secret fetish dungeon.

27 of the Boy Scouts in this picture are totally gay. Can you find them? While the Catholic church
has lost nearly all sway over American social mores (praise Jesus), its stranglehold on the
uneducated third world is as oppressive and misogynistic as any time in 500 years. Backwards,
anti-science thought persists throughout huge chunks of America. Even Marco Rubio, Florida’s
hotshot Republican and one of the “Gang of Eight” who designed the new, bipartisan immigration
reform proposal, recently mouthed various idiocies about evolution and the “real” age of the Earth.
You stay intellectual, Florida.

Oh, and the reason the younger generation care so much about the environment? It’s not
because they’re all liberal tree huggers. It’s because they have no choice; to this very day, no
major nation has taken significant steps to prevent global warming and the ensuing catastrophe.
Climate change is here. Mother Nature is furious. The culture war over the environment is insipid
and irrelevant, blasted away by extreme hurricanes and death.

And of course, the South, despite flickers of progress in various college towns, remains as racist,
anti-smarts, and gun-lovingly homophobic as ever. The good news? This used to be a problem.
The South used to have enormous influence on culture and politics, acting as the genteel, racist
heart of “real” America. But as the new rainbow constituency takes hold and a calm, intellectual
black man enters his second term as president, that influence is waning; the South is now more
isolated, emasculated, increasingly meaningless in the new America dialogue. This much we
know: The South will not rise again. Ever. Praise.

The larger truism remains: The culture wars are mostly over, and the GOP largely lost. And
continues to lose. And in the grand scheme, always will. Why? Because younger generations
always lean away from the more oppressive ideas of their elders. Because civil rights are always
in humanity’s best interest. Because it’s never been about godless self-indulgence and liberal
hedonism defeating hard work and respectful restraint. It’s far more about intellect, love, and
shared humanity defeating a beloved trio of conservative American demons: constriction,
paranoia, and fear.

MLK put it best: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” Which we
might amend as: The arc of human evolution is gorgeous and messy and strange, and it bends
toward love, expansion, barely controlled chaos and continuously exploding everything you
thought you knew. Don’t tell your grandma.

Amazing. The author talks about restricting Constitutional gun rights, and then later praises "civil rights". Oh, I get it. The only civil rights that matter, are the rights the left desires. They're fine with denying other folks their civil rights. Now we know why Democrat brains cost more.

The fact that you think this hate filled garbage is a "interesting read" sheds light on the thinking process (or should I say, lack there of) that produces your normal, off the wall, incoherent posts.

The second Amendment (Amendment II) to
the United States Constitution is the part of
the United States Bill of Rights that protects
the right of the people to keep and bear
arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791,
along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. The
Supreme Court of the United States first
ruled in 2008 that the Second Amendment
protects an individual right to possess and
carry firearms.[1]

In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued
two landmark decisions officially
establishing this interpretation. In District of
Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the
Court ruled that the Second Amendment
protects an individual's right to possess a
firearm, unconnected to service in a
militia[1][2] and to use that arm for
traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-
defense within the home within many
longstanding prohibitions and restrictions
on firearms possession listed by the Court
as being consistent with the Second
Amendment.[3] In McDonald v. Chicago, 561
U.S. 3025 (2010), the Court ruled that the
Second Amendment limits state and local
governments to the same extent that it limits
the federal government.[4]

if clarence thomas had not been on the supreme
court, a position he should never have been given,
a more intelligent court would have authorized
as many muskets as you wanted to own

Obviously the OP seems to missed the fact that the muskets the American militia carried in 1776 were the military equivalent of the AR's of today. But, them again that would require pulling ones head from ones arse and using their brain to deduce.

Racist South???? Obvious he hasn't traveled in the liberal Northwest. I've yet to see a Chinatown, little Italy, etc in any big Southern City, but go to Boston, New York and the uber progressive San Francisco and I'm sure you will find them.

While we are at it, humor me a little. Why does Clarence Thomas not deserve to be on the court? Oh, I'm sorry he doesn't vote the way the libs want him to, thus he's an Uncle Tom. Wait a minute who's the racist now. You win RICK because you're the racist.

Rick,
I know this will go wayyyyyy over your head, as you don't seem to have the capacity to understand anything other then the far left crap you fill your mind with, but here goes.

When the 2nd Amendment was written, private citizens had weapons more powerful then the military. Kentucky long rifles could kill at 300 yards, and most Americans had the skill to do so. Military muskets at the time where very inaccurate, and where only affective out to 50 yards. Most cannon was in the hands of private citizens. The equivalent of fighter jets, tanks and machine guns being owned today by private citizens, while the military was armed with semi-auto sporting rifles.

But of course, you'll continue to stick your fingers in your ears, fill your mind with leftist lies, and then regurgitate them here in the most incoherent form possible.

Ok, let me get this straight. If Justice Thomas was not on the Supreme Court, it would be more intelligent. So, you state a black man makes the court not as intelligent as it could be, yet you have the audacity to call anyone a racist who happens to disagree and take issue with your Messiah? Could you be anymore of a hypocrite?

I did a quick biography check. Not sure why he would find him less qualified than any other. He actually practiced law, much like most of his current peers and those before him. Seems a couple of the new comers were professors (shrugging shoulders), much like the person who nominated them.

HE'S BLACK? I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT. AND WHAT WOULD
THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIS INTELLECT? OBAMA'S IS BLACK
AND HE IS GOING TO BE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE SMARTEST
PRESIDENT WE HAVE HAD. SO FAR HE HAS PASSED UNIVERSAL
HEALTH CARE, COMPLETED THE INTEGRATION OF THE MILITARY
AND HAS HELPED THE REPUBLICANS DESTROY THEMSELVES, HE
PREVENTED A COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF THE FINANCIAL STATE
OF MY COUNTRY (PERHAPS YOURS TOO, IF YOU LIVE HERE LEGALLY)
AND HE WILL BE FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER DEMOCRATIC PESIDENT
UNLESS CHRIS CHRISTIE DECIDES TO RUN, THEN THERE WILL BE
A GREAT DEBATE FOR THE NEXT PRESIDENT. CHRISTIE IS NOT A
DUMB ASS LIKE YOUR LAST NOMINEE THE "I AVE NO OPINIONS
ABOUT ANYTHING AND I ALSO HAVE OPINIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING,
BUT I AM RICH AND UNDERSTAND THE AMERICAN'S AS BEING LAZY
ASS HISPANICS AND BLACK, I THINK THEY CALL THEM NOW. WE
NEVER USED TO BURY THEM IN OUR CEMETERIES, BUT NOW WE HAVE
TO OR LOSE OUR TAX FREE STATUS.

THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED AS A WHITE SUPREMIST COUNTRY AND
IF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION DIDN'T NEED LABORERS, WE NEVER
WOULD HAVE LET THE IRISH IN AND BEFORE THAT THE CHINESE TO BUILD
RAILROADS, BUT THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO STAY, THEN THE MEXICANS
WERE SUPOSSED TO PICK THE CROPS AND THEN GO BACK WHERE THEY
CAME FROM, BUT THEY COULD WALK BACK HERE, UNLIKE THE CHINESE
WHO HAD TO COME BY BOAT.

JAPAN TOOK OVER THE AUTO INDUSTRY AND ALL BUT PUT OUR INDUSTRY
OUT OF BUSINESS UNTILL WE TAXED THIER IMPORTS ENOUGH TO MAKE
THEM LESS COMPETITIVE, BUT THEY STILL OWN A LOT OF HAWAII, ONE OF
OUR FORMER STATES AND THE BIRTHPLACE OF OUR CURRENT TWO TERM
PRESIDENT OBAMA. AND INDUSTRIES IN THIS COUNTRY WE DON'T EVEN
KNOW ABOUT.

THEN THE CHINESE BUT SOME OF THIER JUNK AND WE WILL NEVER AFFORD
TO BUY BACK SOME OF OUR COUNTRY.

I KNOW THIS IS TOO MUCH TO GRASP, BUT YOU STOPPED AT YOUR NAME SO
YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WASTE YOUR LIMITED ATTENTION SPAN READING THIS.

IN CLOSING, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FROM RICK

If there EVEN a question of his senility, it was put to rest. The only thing the supreme court should have done for you Rick is allow Jack Kevorkian to "assist" people like you until his ultimate passing in 2011.

Because every time you post you attempt to vilify those who disagree with your nonsense. Go find some like minded people, hold hands and sing kumbaya.

It's amazing you haven't figured it out, no ones laughing with you, they're laughing at you.

Well, I read what you write and all that came to mind was a waste water sewage treatment plant. Nobody wants to claim it but you and it smells.

As for the OP...really? WTF was so interesting? In your own words please. It seems like they had a very hard time letting things go
