About two weeks ago, the only thing I knew about cigars is that they existed. I have exclusively interacted with this forum and have developed a very distinct perception and have decided to express these views with you to allow all of you the opportunity to validate or dispute this concept. I have come to the following conclusion:

The hobby of cigars is a hedonistic ritual of sensual delight. The deep rich color of the mahogany entices one closer, spurning the drive to touch and caress the smooth supple texture of this offering of nature while one anticipates the pleasures held within. Upon opening this treasure chest, one is enabled to experience an aroma wafting in the air and permeating one’s nasal passages, creating the thoughts of pleasures once known and prompting a wonder of indulgences yet to come. One makes a choice and begins a spiritual journey.

At this point one holds in one’s hand an encapsulation of the four metaphysical elements; Earth, Air, Fire and Water. The rich nutrients of the Earth are contained within the leaves as the plant absorbed within itself all that was necessary to create perfection of life. The element of Air is represented by the aroma pre-lit, the aroma post-lit and the smoke which wafts through this element. Fire becomes present upon the ritual lighting and Water is the delicate balance intermingled with the air to enable this marvel of nature to retain an optimum state.

It is believed that, when all four of these elements are present that a fifth element comes into existence. The fifth element (yeah like the movie – Did you think it was just fiction?) is Spirit. When all of one’s senses are open, one is more enabled to tap the recesses within. If one enacts the partaking of a cigar in a ritual fashion with the reverence and awe such activity is deserving of, one has an opportunity to learn while enjoying in quite reflection. Such a combination of sensuality with the presence of all four elements enables one to relax, reflect and tap into the answers to our most puzzling enigmas held within the stillness of our being.

Beyond a pleasurable hobby, partaking in the smoking of cigars holds the potential of bringing one closer to a state of perfection. It allows one to slow down and recognize the simple, yet most powerful and important, aspects of life: enjoyment of living, time away from the mundane world and ourselves.

D#*n!! If I were prone towards poetry, I'd have said the same thing. It's not the sort of thing a man would say, but it's right on.

Wow...eloquently put Aprhodite. I'll show that to my wife when I'm laying around in my boxers scratching my nuts with a cigar dangling from my lip.

in a barbershop quartet, when a certain set of notes are locked on, a fifth note appears (akin to your fifth element) that no one is singing. it is called an overtone.

that is why when you listen to barbershop, you will sometimes get that jolt that goes through you.

A, what you "poeted" is pretty true.

but sometimes a cigar is just a smoke.

Wow! All that and you've yet to smoke a cigar!?

Can't wait to hear what you'll have to say when that experience finally comes to fruition...

***Could this be another covert operation perpetrated by one of the loonies in the nuthouse in the guise of a newbie? Just wondering...***

Does that mean I get to see the photo? My wife's going out this weekend so maybe I'll pick up a big bag of cheeto's and some hand cream. BTW, lingerie is on the way(I threw in some flannel shirts and a can of SKOAL).I write poetry too, mostly about ponies and midgets(like there's anything else that matters).
