Received notification from Board of Elections this morning. Once again I am running unopposed for Village Trustee.
Granted we have a very small population to draw from yet 3rd time unopposed!!!

Not like folks don't complain and such.

Well at least there are 3 candidates for Mayor...Guess they're more interested in the "top" job.

I wonder how prevalent this is?

Not a lot of people are willing to run for public office these days because of the way their lives are dragged through the mud by their opponents.

And before you go saying I'm picking on the libs, it does and will happen on both sides of the aisle. That's our society these days. Sad but true.

We have like 480 registered voters, dragged thru the mud heck we all "know" each other. Seriously I agree with you for the most part.

I just find it troublesome that there seems to be such a lack of civic interest even : (

Because people use to take pride in their government. Not saying that you don't but it doesn't seem that way anymore. Elected officials are looked upon with so much disdain these days.

Good luck in your future endeavors. I trust you feel you can make a difference.

For such a small community we have such interesting challenges, we are split by 2 counties, 2 townships and our water district is in parts of 4 townships. As such we have a numerous contact/cooperation with different gov't entities.
Quite fascinating actually.

It'd be nice to see more interest/involvement.
