First lady Michelle Obama accidentally referred to herself as a "single mother" during a local TV interview Thursday -- before swiftly correcting herself.

She made the comment during an interview with the CBS affiliate in Burlington, Vt.

While discussing efforts to help under-served communities, the first lady tried to make the point that she's been in the shoes of a "busy" mother.

"Believe me, as a busy, single mother," she said, before pausing to correct herself. "Or, I shouldn't say single -- as a busy mother, sometimes you know when you've got the husband who's president, it can feel a little single. But he's there."

She went on to say that before she came to the White House she was a "busy mom" juggling work with raising her kids.

What the heck is she busy doing???
I'm paying for grandma to live in the house, plus paying for the largest cabinet for a first lady ever!

What the fuq is she doing besides having to maintain the bang haircut. The woman should just STFU!!!

I think she took a page out of her politician husband's page & simply misspoke trying to commiserate with the "common man's" pain. However, I have to agree with the cacster & DMV.

She's not a single mother in the true sense other than she may be lonely due to her husband's absence. She has little or no idea what it's like to come home to fatherless children exhausted, ready to juggle bills, clean house, and/or look for work.

All she does is wear wigs with 'tude and speak to civic groups about healthy eating habits while munching on Kitkats.

Anybody remember when there were a bunch of people who accused Idi Amin Jr. or engaging in homosexual sex with them when he first ran for president. And now we have Michelle (maddog) Obama claiming that she's a single mom?
