United States military support for Syrian rebels will include small arms, ammunition and possibly anti-tank weapons, according to two officials familiar with the matter. The weapons will be provided by the CIA, the officials said.
On Thursday, the White House said Syria had crossed a "red line" with the use of chemical weapons against rebels and added -- without specifics -- that the United States would increase the "scale and scope" of support for the opposition.
"What we need, really, is weapons and ammunition, and especially anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles," Salim Idriss, the head of the rebel Free Syrian Army, told CNN's Christiane Amanpour on Friday.

No you don't.

So how many of your family members are you voluntarily sending to the upcoming Syria war?

none. Don't feel remotely responsible for Syrians finally erupting against an oppressive regime. Glad they found the gumption. Scared of how it ends. What's that got to do with you avoiding answering about how we should blame Israel?

Still waiting to hear the tie in explaining how Israel is remotely responsible for both the uprising AND the resulting massacre perpetrated by the brutal dictator.

You so funny!
Nah, I'm actually finding his anti Israel bleating old and tedious. It may even just be for fun, whack as that may seem.
Think I'll sit out the rest. Nothing new will be learned. He loves Palestinians (they hate us) and hates that Israel exists. I love our friend Israel and wish Palestinians would stop wanting all of the land and negotiate for a country they could have had in 1948.
But when anyone says send money to neither, that is a political stance I respect.

You do realize that you're the one who brought up Israel, not me?

You created your own little strawman and got lost in it.

Now you're just being silly. I never said I love Palestinians and hate Israelis. You're creating your own persecution complex narrative because you can't bring yourself to acknowledge that Israel can do wrong.

Agreed but it will never happen. The USA needs to kill them off to stop them from killing themselves off. It is a moral imperative now that a "red line" has been crossed.

^Get used to it. We're going through the "Californification" of our country. The Pelosis, Bidens, McCains, Christies, and Marco Rubios are making it happen.

Applause
I don't begrudge Frank's opinion at all. His love for our only real ally in the middle east is well warranted. Don't take it so personally HD.
What happened to your cones of protection- on loan to Madonna?

Our arms profiteers want us to continue feeding bush fires by supplying ALL sides on the taxpayer's dime. It's breaking our back and China laughs.

You should know I don't take anything personally on these boards. If Frank wants to be in league with the arms profiteers and start the next war, I might even be standing right there beside him profiting and sending someone else's kids to die.

It's the American way!

Yes, depending on the region. In the next 2 or 3 decades, Florida, Texas, California (of course), and Aztlan or what the Aztec/Latino separatists call the Southwest, will speak primarily the language bequeath to them by their Conquistador conquerors - español. Rest assured though, the rest of the country will speak either english, ebonics, spanglish or a mixture thereof.

Iran reportedly is preparing to send 4,000 Revolutionary Guard soldiers to Syria to defend President Bashar Assad's regime, as the United States intends to supply rebels with small arms through a CIA-run program.

Pro-Iranian sources deeply involved with Iran's security told The Independent that the decision to move soldiers into Syria was made before last week's presidential election.

Iran also is looking to open up a new front of the Syrian conflict in the Golan Heights region near Israel, The Independent reports.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is planning to bolster the strength of anti-Assad forces within Syria.

So far the White House has committed only to supplying rebels with small arms and ammunition, following confirmation that Assad's regime has been using chemical weapons.
