Maybe the Noob thought it was what baccies you like to smoke? BTW are we off by a factor of ten? Noticed a while ago we're at 10x as many bowls in our briars/meers/cobs as posts. Probably not right.....

20411 Peterson holiday blend '13. My first Aro. Been tapping bags of samples Rodney sent in the past few days. Great selections. Really digging the pipe.

You ever watch the smoke you blow out go with the wind and say to it, " You were good. Thank you."

Folks, we need a re-count!

Previous post to the quoted one, we were at 2410, then a zero crept in and the count never got reset. Thought something was odd a few weeks ago when I realized this thread and the which cigars 1,000,000 were equal. Then today noticed the "bowl count" was 10x our post count. We're inflated by something like 18,000 bowls of pipe baccy.

Either some fog like Jamie makes a determination on the real count, or we all smoke like we're on fire over Christmas without posting numbers and say it's good.

d'oh!

Hiya Jamie! I'm thinking of correcting the numbers, as it's driving me f'in nuts now that I know its messed up. My OCD kicks in every time I smoke a pipe now.

30028 (Too ADD to do the math to correct the count accurately, yeah, OCD and ADD means I'm a nit-picking azzhat hey look a squirrel) CB Regular DGT from this morning. Much better after a rest in the bigger cob.

This may not be the place but wasn't sure about starting a new thread for it. I have some cigar leaf that was gifted to me and I was wondering what blends would I use to mix that in with?

Hit tobacco reviews, plug in cigar leaf (more specific would help), plug in some other tobacco varieties you like and see what the pros have blended ?

All you can do is try it and hope for the best. At worst, you wasted a bowl. At best, you made something awesome. A lot of folks will add a singular tobacco to a blend to change a specific aspect of it's flavor profile. For instance I added 5 Brothers (a burley) to Orlik Golden Sliced (a Virginia/Perique blend or "VaPer") to amp up the strength a little. My opinion is that if you add a blend to a blend, the water gets too muddy. If you want, send me a message and I'll point you to some "educated reading material".

Hoyodude should put his $0.02 in here. I've seen that he has blended with 5 Brothers, too. He's probably been smoking a pipe longer than I have and ain't nearly as dumb.

I'm not convinced about the "nearly as dumb " part but I do love mixing with 5 Brothers. If you want your blend to have a little muscle, I guess I'm a nicotine freak, it is great for that but it adds a nutty deep character I like as well. Good for VAPER type blends. You have to be careful though as its pretty pronounced.

Kinda like the old codger blends for putzing around. Reminds me of a neighbor from long ago who was right out of central casting-coveralls, hat, slightly dumpy out doing yard work with his pipe.

Gonna be sad when I smoke my last John Bull. Just a good basic English and was dirt cheap on here.

30052 Pippa Vanilla Cavendish in a regular cob
30053 St. James Flake in a briar, needed to let it dry before folding up, fought it the whole time to keep it lit
