4919- P&C's blending dark fire cured in a MM corn cob
Only tobacco I smoke in a pipe cause it tastes similar to a DE KFC cigar
All the flavored stuff gives me horrible tongue bite.
Did I do that right?

Yes
If you don’t already have them, get at least a COUPLE cob pipes, resting them properly helps, as well as dedicating ones to certain blends, etc.
If you haven’t already, try some Seattle Pipe Club stuff……….some of my favs…

I smoke mostly cobs or Magic Inch pipes. The latter rarely gives a bite.

Tongue bite is caused by the smoke being too hot which is an issue caused more by the smoker and not the pipe, and it's particularly more common when the tobacco blend has a high sugar content naturally (like Virginias) or through an added sugary casing.

That's one reason I tend to stay away from those sugary sweet flavored aromatics unless the topping flavors are applied lightly and don't mask the taste of the tobacco blend components.

Thanks for the advice. Thanks to others too. I am aware that resting and dedicating pipes to certain blends helps but I am currently only smoking one blend and maybe two or three bowls a week so for now I have one cob and one wood pipe. I did try the SPC plum pudding reserve blend and it was fantastic. No tongue bite from that. Haven't tried the regular plum pudding but I might pull the trigger on a small can next time I'm at the B&M that carries it. Thanks again King
