Hey All!

Smoked my first AF 858 Maduro last night and really enjoyed it. Thought about getting a box in the near future and killed a little time this morning by shopping around online.

It seems that AF enforces a lowest advertised price of about $114 per box, which is reasonable, but not fantastic when I can get them for just over $6 at the local B&M store....

SOOO, if anyone has any sources for boxes any cheaper I would love a PM. Think I'm gonna try a AF Anejo or maybe a padron 2000 today. Really wanna try and Padron 26/64 after all my reading and discussion with people in the shop, but am gonna try and hold off for a few weeks till I have an actual special occasion.

Thanks!

Elliot

If you like the 858 maddies, you will love the sungrowns. But I only know one regular source, and they don't sell by the box. They go for $31.50 a fiver. I usually buy 5 fivers at a time. Considering how hard these are to find, and how much I enjoy them, I don't mind buying them that way. Speaking of that, I need to stock on up.

Don't know what site he's referencing but SG means sungrown. If you're zeroed in on the cigar you want, just do a search on it an you'll end up getting prices at sites all over the place. Or, you could just ask him to PM you the site where he saw the nice price BigGrin

Back-in-the-day (…obviously before 2015 and stricter enforcement of MAP…), you could get boxes of 8-5-8 from a very well known auction site for around $90-ish. But what was really strange is that you could bid on 5-packs and get them for even less, per cigar. Once won a bid for $2.20 each!
