I haven't actually been able to register and get signed into the website.

I am interested in what the premiums will be, as I already have an individual plan (cheaper than adding to my wife's work plan). I don't expect much benefit as I'm not eligible for the big tax incentives.

HD, I believe Victor did & appeared pleased. I will be following suit. Can't be any worse than the crappy (and expensive) catastrophic BC/BS coverage we had. Law's probably written by them anyway.

How's the stock market treating you?

LMFAO!! Of course it was, and heavily influence by their activists.

Stock market sucks, but healthcare & health-related stocks are up. Go figure.

I thought Victor's was employer provided. I'm actually curious how it turns out for real. (Beyond the media rhetoric)

From what I've read catastrophic coverage is an area of sticker shock.

Stock has been doing quite well during this period of the great Obama economic recovery.

Seriously most companies haven't even published the rates yet, I have a Portal issue as a producer so i doubt the Public can get thru..

I feel it will be at least a month ..

I read on day one of the sign up that it would only give an estimate of your rate... it would take a day or two to show you exactly what you had to pay... Mellow

...and astronomically high deductibles- rendering the coverage practically worthless.

Good to hear on the market. Expect things it to heat up if the impasse continues however. As always, I'm prepared to jump in when DOW hits 3- 4,000.
Parties prolly close to another debt patch agreement that allows for discretionary spending till early next year.

We'll all be forced to buy a Chevy next. The 'car' will be labeled as a basic essential need, and cars with bluetooth technology will be given out free to all those that received a free iPhone.

I'd bet my bottom dollar Pelosi and others invested heavily on inside info before the 'law' was passed (or right taken away - however you look at it)

Both were older couples with children long gone. Pre Medicare self insured. Prolly lower middle class. Did not qualify for any assistance. But the premiums were cheaper than they had been paying and the coverage was better. Friend of friends of the family that were given

I've also had little issue getting in to the system the few times I've tried. Must be timing luck or location.

Contrary to rumors, I picked up personal insurance this month through a highly rated HMO in the area.... Not cheap, but it's already paid for itself in xrays and today's Dr visit.... What can I say, I'm injury prone.

Good on you for helping folks get signed up. I can't imagine all the computer phobics freaking about this new requirement.

I heard the bottle neck is registration itself. The site requires registration before browsing, you cannot anonymously browse like most websites. It might be a little smoother sailing once an account is created.

Got a letter from Aetna 4 days ago telling me that I will no longer be able to keep my current plan as of 1/14 and that i need to go to the ACA site or i won't have insurance
So i guess i need to look, sorta afraid to see what my new premium will be.

My current Aetna plan is for a smoker $249 per month.

That is interesting to hear.

I have employer provided healthcare and the policy has been modifying in its terms and costs over the past couple of years as Obamacare rolls out. I've already received notification that the company insurance is a qualifying plan under Obamacare so it seems we're already in compliance. HR seems to be very active this year regarding announcing upcoming benefits information so something is definitely in the wind. Perhaps major cost increases (or decreases).

Ahhhh, so you are a kept man. No wonder you can't relate to nor fully understand the plight of the entrepreneurial spirit!
It would be like trying to explain to a buffalo drawing, cave dweller the meaning of words or introducing 2 ply to TW.
I understand now.Wink

No entrepreneurial spirit...

We figured out how to crush all the small businesses a long time ago and drive you off to little reservations.

I will battle you with the entirety of my heart and you will probably lose. But maybe, just maybe. You might challenge me. The Beatles needed the Rolling Stones. Even Diane Sawyer needed Katie Couric. Will you be my Katie Couric?

Are you one of Obama's OVERPAID navigators?

Did you explain that the older woman, even if passed menopause has to have maternity coverage, did you explain it might be cheaper per month BUT the deductible will make it unaffordable....Etc...
The AHCA sets minimum requirements for personal insurance....there will be NO such thing as " catastrophic " insurance anymore, women have to have maternity coverage evn if 60 years old, everyone has to have substance abuse coverage, no matter what, etc....it's " full " coverage or nothing, if you chose nothing then you get FINED...errr I mean " TAXED ", forgot the Dems finagled these words to the Supreme Court to get it passed as constitutional....it is what is A FINE for not complying to the law....if you don't have car insurance do they "TAX " you....heck no....they FINE you...
You jack up the price by doing this, by jacking up the price you get enough money to cover the CAREER welfare recipients....

I understand there have only been 35,000 enrolled in 2 weeks....WOW!!!! Must be good Chit!!!!
At That rate it will take about 52 years to enroll 30 million people....

What a great thing!!!

The poor get free healthcare ( they already had that). And the middle class gets screwed....cheaper to pay penalty...$95 the first year....295 the next and then 649 per person every year after that.....pay check to paycheck folks get screwed....pay a fine of over $2000 For a family of four and STILL have no insurance....
I would be peeled off!!!
As the old guy from obama's court said " this thing is excruciatingly embarrassing for the White House."

Obama's agenda ....redistribution of wealth and NOW redistribution of healthcare.....
god help us all!!

So I now what what my medical insurance situation is for next year to keep the same level of coverage:

A change of providers and a 10.7% cost increase.

See Bloody Spaniard, Le HockeyDad does not always win. (but I usually do!)

I'm guessing it would have been worse if we stayed with the old provider. It is nicer to think that the cost increase is because of Obamacare and will be used to help the needy.

I love it when you refer to yourself in the third person! LOL
I went through a phase like that when I was made captain of my college fencing team and even grew a beard.

Umm, no, the girls would come to our practices and events. We had the welts and bruises from swordplay (metal sword not penile).

Didn't you ever have girls come to see you perform... besides pie eating contests?Think
