I voted for jpotts... and do you want to know why?
You don't? That's ok too.

Good luck, Mr. Presidente.
It's too late for this country but perhaps you can dish out some payback to America's enemies (domestic & foreign) before we fade out.

I think we're already circling the drain. On deck perhaps is China, for their turn the sun.

China and India are NOTHING without our technology to stea..., er, duplicate & markets. Who are they going to sell to- each other?! They'll follow us into the clink.

I think this country's only chance to survive a while longer may be a no-nonsense, fat cutting, logically linear thinking (none of the legalese or pc or global warming junk science bs) aspergerger's President!
That, ladies and gennulmen, is why I would vote for jpotts.
Plus, he promised me a shiny campaign button & a ball of yarn.

I believe we can no longer compete in production of goods. China, India and Brazil, et al do/will have adequately trained workers who work for much less and produce quality goods much cheaper than we can. What we have that they need is capital, but more importantly technology- something we excel at and can also improve at greatly. That, IMO, is our ace-in-the-hole to export and exploit in the intermediate run.

What makes you think capital doesn't follow sources of production? Their yuan, er, dollar will go a lot further there. "They" have absolutely no loyalty to this country other than profit. Our biggest ally is foreign governments' red tape & they're ameliorating that.

And technology is our ace in the hole? We can only hope. Foreigners have R&D too. In fact some of the bigger advances are coming from abroad these days. Perhaps if the Federal Government steps aside, lightens up on regulations, and allows free enterprise to flourish once again... but then will foreign & domestic investment follow?

A lot of questions to be answered & we seem obsessed on answering the wrong questions.
