The 82nd and 101st airborne divisions are heading for Kiev at the request of the Ukrainian government. 400 combat aircraft are also in route. France, Germany, and the UK are holding votes today to send troops as well.

Then again, not even the cowardly commander-in-chief is THAT stoopid. Hell, he ignored Benghazi.

I don't blame Russia for protecting their assets.

The Ukraine Pres was elected and since he decided not to join the EU, the US and the Europeans prompted a Coup...

It's all about $$$
Besides, The Crimea has always been part of Russia until recent times,,,

just so ya know..

After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, Crimea became part of independent Ukraine, and Moscow and Kyiv agreed to divide up the former Soviet Black Sea Fleet. Crimea's port city of Sevastopol remains the base for Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

Ethnic Russians account for 58 percent of Crimea's population, while Ukrainians make up 24 percent. Crimean Tatars, who began returning to the peninsula from exile after the fall of the Soviet Union, comprise 12 percent of its population.

In a recent poll of Russians by the state-run All-Russia Center for the Study of Public Opinion, 56 percent of the respondents said they saw Crimea as belonging to Russia.

There were several different countries and peoples occupying Ukraine before the Russians took over the show. Even the Lithuainians had claim to the area for a time.

Mexico has more of a claim on Texas.

It's never a good idea for those of us living in America to start talking about whether other governments should be giving land back to people who may have a legitimate prior claim on it...

Next thing you know we're all gonna be on some big boats headed back to Europe.

What happened? They get lost?
Russia is coming to the aid of the Russian Ukranians in the Crimea. Eerily similar to the Nazi intervention on behalf of the Germans in the Sudetenland?

Serious questions:

Is this all about the Russian gas monopoly & how Europe got tired of being at the mercy of their natural gas, er, so to speak?

Secondly, what is the neo-nazi involvement & whose side are they on- the Ukranian nationalists' side (anti Russian)?

Why is McCain such an irascible **** always clamoring for world war? Is he alright? Does he break out in night sweats at the thought of peace or not handing out satchels of taxpayer cash?

We have them on the run. U.S. has moved 6 F-15's and a tanker to Poland and are sending one destroyer to the Black Sea.

Mission complete!
