Aaaah, recess with unruly children. Gotta love it. Has anyone else noticed that kids today don't know how to play ANY of the good old playground games? No Red Rover, no kickball, no keep away, no clapping games, no hot potato, no four square, no hopscotch...

And, some kids just can't be taught. For example, I tried to get a rowdy bunch of boys going on one of the simplest playground games there is - tag. Not too complicated, right? I tag you, now you're "it." You tag someone else - now they're "it." And on and on and on.

These kids really need to double up on the ritalin, because it didn't take long for tag to deteriorate into Lord of the Flies.

"Okay, Stevie - I tagged you, so you're 'it.' Now you have to go tag someone else, and THEY'LL be 'it.' Okay?"

Okay...I tag you, and YOU!

"No...honey you only tag one person at a time. One person tags one person...Understand?"

(Child 1) Okay! I tag you and YOU!

"No, honey - that's not they way you play the ga...

(Child 1) BUUUUT STEEEEVIE DID IT!

(Child 2) Hey! No fair! He got to tag two people! I wanna tag two people too!

After the 4 or 5 tags, I couldn't tell who was "it" anymore - could have been anyone...hell, it could have been EVERYONE! But they were keeping themselves entertained, and no one had gotten into a fight or fallen off the monkey bars or been bitten yet, so I figured what the hell - they're having fun, and that was really the point of the whole thing anyway, so... viva la difference!

UNTIL...one of the little monkeys came flying out of nowhere, whallopped me upside the head and screamed, "TAG! YOU'RE IT! HAHAHAHAHA!."

And while I lay there on the grass, protesting loudly that I only started the game, another &$#! little monkey flew in from LEFT field and leaped off of a POST into the middle of my stomach, landing so hard that the impact left a HOLE, knocking the wind out of me and leaving me gasping for breath and seeing stars...

Yup yup! Just when I didn't think life could get any better, I got a classroom with my name on the door and a bunch of sweet shorties calling me TEACHER...but ya never get librarian out of your blood!
Sweet talked the principal into sending me to a literacy/reading conference in a couple weeks, in fact! Sold her on the "parental involvement with pre-readers" and "building and maintaining classroom libraries" break-out sessions, but what sold ME was the chance to play librarian fangirl to Gordon Korman EEEEEEEeeee!
LOL!

Either way, you lot are clearly using common core "math" here...

LOL! If it were allowed, I don't think I'd ruin it with "watch me! Teacher, watch me! I have to potty! Teacher, he spit at me! Teacher, he's putting rocks on the slide!" distractions!

Actually the most accurate example I've seen so far was: "Jack has a cat and Jill has a pail of water. If Billy has $5, how many figs will his dog eat? Write your constructed response using a bar graph."

LOL - I love the "I'm going to tell my mom!" when I put them in time-out, take away a privilege, make them put their crap back in their cubby....

"Okay - in fact, I think we need to tell her TOGETHER. What do you think she'll say?"

For some reason, they lose interest in the conversation AHAHAHAHAHA!

Mikey got a number all right!!horse horse

He got my number d'oh! d'oh!

I've been tagged. I thought this was supposed to be a simple 5'er tag??

Lets hope the professor isn't teaching math. . .

He hit me with
2x 2012 EPC short runs
2 x La Aurora 100 anos
1 x best seller
3 x tat tatoo
and 2 I can only guess to be Illusione MJ 12's One black foil and one silver foil.

Thank you Mikey, this was mighty generous.

And now, I need to select a victim, err a target.
