Really?

This stuff has to stop.

Very sad for murdered and injured, but if this goes down as "workplace violence" again... ram27bat

Ft Hood is 40 miles from me and from what we have heard it wasn't terrorism. It has been on the local news and from what they report one of the soldiers, Ivan Lopez, had a beef with one or more of the soldiers he worked with. The shooter offed himself rather than get captured.

TW political in a way because of the way the 09 attack and post event security were handled.

Heaven forbid we allow soldiers on base to be armed.

Talk of the extended magazine will start up again.

I'd rather have the right to ask for a bigger one!

Police stations are chock full of head cases, violent criminals, etc. yet I can't remember there being any mass shootings in a police station. Interestingly, everyone who works there is armed. Coincidence?

Its political because it will be used to further discussions of keeping guns from anyone diagnosed with any kind of mental illness, trying to validate the need for doctors to be involved in the aquisition and maintenance thereof. Granted, those on psychotropic medications probably should be monitored, but they want to go much further in using the healthcare vehicle to disarm as many as possible.

It's also political because instead of a "call to arms" on base, they had a "lock down" and told everyone to go inside, lock the doors and stay away from windows...y'know, it wasnt a hurricane...Our nations Army was told to hide and wait for police. Thats weakening to our military in several ways - the wussification of man is in full-swing.

Anyone heard about the guy BHOzo is trying to insert as our new Surgeon General? He's an anti-gun activist, not a surgeon.

Speaking of O, anyone else noticed that every single time the SHTF, he's somewhere else, fundraising?

And why the hell isn't Hassan pushing up daisies yet? Thats disgraceful.

Just thinkin both sides should wait for the bodies to cool before spewing their rhetoric. Seems to me once again both sides are more similar than different.

Teedubbya there's a law that they cannot carry on base.....that was my main point. The first armed person this guy came in contact with resulted in him sgooting himself.

And the pharmaceutical aspect shouldn't be overlooked.

I think this is a tragic event and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. I too would like to know the facts about what happened and why before deciding which side to believe since O think this will become a political hot button as opposed to an American tragedy.

I'm not suggesting a conversation may not be appropriate at some point but it sort of looks the same as when Al and Jesse ambulance chase issues. It's predictable. The funniest part to me is when folks do it the passive aggressive way..... I need to do it before they do it because they are so **** for doing it.

So, its not ok to discuss it until when? Until we get sick of hearing every media outlet discuss it? Until the official spin is delivered? I don't agree. I think actions have consequences, and we are seeing the consequences of bad decision making. PTSD or not, I would contend that its unlikely this person would have done what he did if he knew he were surrounded by armed colleagues.

They're already spinning it - they're calling the guy a gunman. John Wayne was a gunman, this guy was a murderer. Saying then he "turned the gun on himself". That bad gun. Look what that gun did. As if this criminal were a victim of his own gun, a victim of PTSD. Everyone's a victim of something these days - what has happened to accountability?

I think every troop should be carrying a government issued sidearm as part of the uniform - they used to - exactly who changed that, and when? Whats that guys name? It should be as unusual to see an unarmed troop as it is to see an unarmed policeman. And for all the same reasons. Stupid rules and regulations have consequences - I think this is one of them.

you can discuss it whenever you like, and I can view you to be the equiveilent to Jesse and Al.

It's a win win!

Teedubya I think your off.

BK and I both I think are focusing on AVOIDING this type of thing. Gun free zones are target rich environments for ding bats and terrorists (Nadal Hassan)

Sounds like someone's bitter because they couldn't convince a doctor they were sane enough to own a gun...

I'm already starting to put my talking points together for the next shooting so I can start solving things and helping before anyone else can or the facts are out!

oh, that one? That next shooting is a real atrocity. I can't believe it, and it's all the fault of brown people and liberals trying to take our guns away. Do you know what I heard Obama was doing during this next shooting??? Crapping. Yeah... like a president's got time for that. If he were as good as reagan, he'd have strapped on a pair of depends and gutted that next shooter with a bowie knife before he got a shot off.

That's ok but you also have to be prepared if the shooting takes place where there are lots of guns. That's a whole different set of talking points to fit the agenda....eh I mean help people

According to the crack cbid forums researchers 98.2% of all shootings and stabbings in this country are because of brown people. And only happen because the victims weren't allowed to have enough guns by Obama.
