WooHoo! Time for a victory lap, eh? Yeah, not so much. The spin has a false claim of 7 million signed up for socialism care, yet nobody can confirm a number since day 1. They've moved the goalposts from covering an alleged 30-40 million uninsured to 7 million signed up (what, for medicare?) and called it a win?

It reminds of when we were gonna fix the economy with a huge "stimulus" that later became a joke about "shovel ready" on a talk show. haha. that's real funny, big guy.

Our lawmakers are trashing our country and mocking us while they do it.

The last estimate I heard showed 1 million NEW folks covered. So we've seen 7 million lose their plans so 1 million new can be covered. The single largest combined tax hike in our nation's history is resulting in massive cost increases, loss of plans, loss of doctors and hey, where's my $2500 bucks in savings, dammit?!

I was gonna get lotsa tasty sticks with that 2500...

Think you might have meant Medicade. Medicare was not involved with Obamacare.

It's been reported tha about 7.1 million signed up, about 700,000 actually purchased coverage and of that 700,000 about 2/3's were previously covered, but lost their coverage even though the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders said they wouldn't when they shoved this piece of crap down our throats.

You are correct, sir. I get the 2 mixed up in name, but understand the differences.

If I understand what I read correctly, Medicaid once eligible, is paid 1/2 by the state & 1/2 by the Feds. But if someone signs in through the AHA website to determine eligibility - and is determined to be eligible for medicaid, the fed pays the whole bill.

So, the question will be how many people of the claimed 7 mil were enrolled in medicaid vs. an actual obamacare plan? And from which states? Some states report the number monthly, some don't.

I think in the long run, this is going as designed, a flop by design. So as to make the next case the next healthcare debacle - The obamacare bailout - and on to single-payer. True socialism.

In fairness, if the opposition were to gain all 4 legislative branches - y'know, house, senate, executive and judicial (see what I did there?) and instituted something different, you could rest assured they wouldn't roll back a single tax hike from the AHA.

It's a mess, but lets at least stop the lying and spinning of the numbers. Registering someone who was eligible for medicaid to begin with shouldnt count toward the fake number.

True. And note how the term "entitlement program" is being stigmatized as a bad thing, lumped in with welfare/food stamps and such.

It is an entitlement, that was earned. And those who paid in are indeed entitled. As is Social Security, which I doubt I'll ever see a penny of...but I digress.

+1

Corporations get the very best entitlements. But modern "wisdom" is to carp about feeding the poor.

To those with no insurance or with overly expensive premiums and huge deductibles that covered little except for the pockets of insurance executives, pharma, and their investors, Obamacare might be considered adequate or if nothing else, as the "equalizer" (aka Medicaid) for decades of neglect.

Medicaid for all exceptn' the rich and Government elite of course.Beer

Is this a serious question or are you just auditing for a book?
You don't know the Maryland exchange very well, do you?

Serious question....

I recall you being one of the largest proponents of it due to the preexisting conditions stipulations.
