Chimmay, or chimmery, or chemmy. Anyway made by monks, fermented with animal parts you can see fur rolling around with the yeast on the bottom.
Funky. Flavor wasn't bad before I read the label, but couldn't stomach it after.

Don't ever leave a beer in a cooler over the summer and throw it in the icebox and expect to rejuvenate it.

Tastes a lot like that

Steel Reserve 211. Worse in my memory than my first beer, a 90 degree shaken up can of Budweiser. I would take it any day over SR211. I watch people buy them at the store and just wonder if it's really only for the alcohol content or if anyone could seriously enjoy that. When it comes to drinks I think some people forget that there's always water. A much better alternative to crap beer and fecal liquor.

When I was a broke college student, I'd scrape up change to buy a bottle of SR211. Would be the highlight of my week.

Still probably one of the worst beers I've ever had.

I had a batch of homebrew that not only was intensely bitter due to too high a mash temp, but also got infected during fermentation. Tasted like insects. Straight up fruit flies and beetles. That was the worst beer I've ever had.

Dogfish Head 120 - overhyped is a major understatement. Boozy burnt caramel. That's it.

Rogue Vodoo Doughnut - a pathetic attempt that tasted like watered down liquid smoke infused garbage. Truly a joke of a beer that is perpetuated only by the popularity of Voodoo donuts. Bonafide gimmick.

Orkney Skull Splitter - 2 sips and down the drain. I enjoy single malt scotch. Scotch ale, not so much.

Green Flash Rayon Vert -- If you like the taste of Band-Aids, then this is the beer for you. Maybe I had a bad bottle, as others seem to like this, but to me there was nothing but Brett.

Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic -- If you like the taste of cough medicine, then this is the beer for you. I literally could not believe that they actually went to the effort of putting this into bottles and distributing it.

Easily Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot. Its a barleywine which was also the first and last barleywine I have tried. Couple people have told me the local brewery makes a very good barleywine but I don't risk wasting it after my first experience with barleywines. Also believe I haven't bought a weyerbachers beer since either.

I have 2 blithering idiots I can't get rid of in my fridge. Been there for about a year now. Don't want to waste it but can't bring myself to drink it.

Taste is funny cause I like all the chimmays. Plus the dogfish head 120 I thought was pretty decent.

Natural Ice, bought a 6 pack of cans to take fishing one summer, I had one and my fishing buddy had one. We carried the other 4 around in the boat cooler all summer just hoping someone would come along looking for a beer.

Huber.....at the time it was made by Rhinelander and was the dregs of Rhinelander. Think about that........


Every bottle was different. Some would be weirdly thick and flat...some would taste like water....sometimes you get one super high in alcohol content...taste like beer flavored vodka. Somewhere around $4 a CASE of returnable 16 oz. long necks. Turn the bottles back in and get another case of like 2 bucks.

For me, this one is simple.

Fraoch Heather ale is the worst "beer" I've ever drank.
Technically it's a gruit, and has heather replacing the hops for bitterness, and is an ancient recipe that should have remained dead IMO.

Also years ago at Pittsburgh airport, the only beers sold there were Iron City and Iron City light.

I was in high school and my friend and I had a total of $3 and 1 fake ID between us. We bought what we could afford, which was a six pack of Iron City Beer. We each opened one, took one drink and proceeded to throw it away. It's pretty bad if a high school kid throws it away.

DFH 120, like other hop-forward beers, needs to be consumed fresh. Due to the cost, few if any of these bottles left the shelf young.

I like a well-balanced IPA, but I agree with you here, simply because of the cost and consequential inadvertent aging leads this well intentioned beer to fall flat on it's face.

Never had the Orkney Skull Splitter, but Scotch Ale is among my recent favorites. A well-done scotch ale is a mighty fine brew IMO.

Absolute nastiest crap was a batch a buddy and I brewed. It was about the same time I was introduced to Celebrator.

As I recall, we started with a can of malt syrup, then added some honey and sugar to up the sp and added some hop pellets to finish it off. IIRC it finished out around 10-12%. It was the foulest crapola known to man. We got drunk as all hell drinking it. Though, no one else could get past the smell.
