My order from 6/5.....no go

With 20 items on the order, yours may ship out today. These are the orders that take a while to pick and pack because they're all over the humidor/warehouse. Not sure why it didn't show up on my report, which looks at orders without tracking numbers, but that's a different issue.

Such a strict policy on competitor reference here in the forums but I have to say that all the competitors I buy from ship immediately upon payment.

Try going to their forum and see if they allow you to mention CigarBid....Even if its to say how lousy our shipping is.

What? They don't have a forum? Oh.......Sarcasm

My three orders should have shipped Thursday and are marked as shipped but with not tracking information as of today Tuesday. I can only assume they have not shipped. This happened to me one other time and I was told the lot was on backorder even though identical lots were still being auctioned. Eventually Cigarbid cancelled the order and issued a refund. Is there a defacto reserve bid by Cigarbid?

Paul

Items are marked 'shipped' when the invoice is printed and a pick sheet created. They are actually shipped when they have a tracking number.

As for the backorders, that isn't one of my department's responsibilities so I have no control. But I can explain how it happens.

Lots are planned 2 weeks (at least) in advance. The lot doesn't get listed unless we have inventory. However, the logic doesn't match up the quantity of the lot vs what we have in stock. So lets say we have a single 5-pack in stock, but the lot shows a box. This could create a backorder unless we're expecting more to arrive, which happens routinely. The only time it becomes an issue is when receipt of the product is delayed. Or, as happens on occasion, they ship us the wrong product - like robusto instead of toro, etc.

I guess I just don't understand the planning... where the cigar order is so important that lives will come to a standstill until an order is shipped and received.

Well since I have in excess of 3000 cigars on hand, I can wait a few extra days or weeks. I'm sure I can find something to hold me over.

Life is not a standstill, my issue (as well as a few others, I'm sure), is making sure our cigars aren't ruined. I have my shipping set to Thursdays so my package should arrive on my days off (today and tomorrow). Now it should arrive on Thursday or Friday (maybe, lol) and bake in the hot (and very humid) South Carolina sun for about 8 hours before I get home.
Is it earth shattering? No. I will just have to do with the extra inconvenience of shipping them all back to Cbid after they have baked. But then again, I still have no tracking number and it might actually ship a full week late on thursday afterall and my situation will be resolved.

They'll be fine dude. Jesus, it's not like they don't bake for weeks in a container to get here and clear customs. They're cigars, not delicate live flowers.

Not everyone is concerned about when they get their cigars. Then there is the overlap of people who have multiple orders, invalid emails (yeah, that happens a lot), and the time it takes to put that kind of email together. With the Father's Day crush, its difficult to get one of the current CigarBid CSRs to find the time to put something like that together.

Anyway, it looks like the orders through Friday 6/6 shipped today. You should get your tracking confirmations shortly.

Thanks Trish!!

No thanks. As it turns out, I found out today that my report was wrong (like we need more stuff to go wrong this month!) and they didn't all ship. I apologize for my misleading post. I was so excited to see there were no CBid orders older than Friday, I had to share it here. But, instead, I think the report just blew a fuse because of the long list.

There is rumor of an email providing more detail than I can provide here. If you have an order that didn't ship, look for that over the next 24 hours or so.

I see your order but there's still no tracking number. There's still 3 1/2 hours of packing/scanning before the UPS truck comes. Sorry SG

No can do. FAA regs have forced us to discontinue shipping matches. If they're included, the order goes Parcel Post and we know that wouldn't make anyone happy!

So you're saying you think we're going to take your money and not ship your order? You have options with your credit card company, if that's the case. However, if we ship to you without payment and then you don't pay, our only option is Guido and his buddies who haul cement and know the location to all the deepest parts of river. And THAT makes no one happy again.

Thank you for the update! My 6/3 order didn't ship yet and I was debating whether to send an e-mail. On one hand I didn't want it to fall through the cracks, on the other hand I don't want to send an e-mail needlessly and add more work to an already busy staff.

I won a bid on 5/28 and have weekly shipping. Still has not shipped so more than 4 days behind. Contacted Cbid by email no response so called today and rep told me that should ship tomorrow. Agree with the customer service issues an email would be nice explaining delay.

We are all spoiled by the "Great customer Service & Fast shipping" we enjoyed in the past: C-Bid just got bigger & It seems like so many more BOTL/SOTL have discovered this place. I guess we just have to suck it up until things get straightened out - I have been a customer since 2006 and got spoiled & when a slight glitch happens I got bent out of shape about it - My bad - Not going anywhere else - I like what I pay for Cigars here & I am going to stay here:

Like many of you here, my orders are delayed and have $109 deducted from my account. Am I pissed? No. Annoyed a slight bit, but I know folks up in warehouse probably do not have much time to take a piss. CS took over 24hrs to respond and I hit them up twice. The poster ranting about his set shipping days are in line with his days off are quite understandable as that is how I have it set up. Baking in the sun is another problem I feel him on. Sure our cigars go through it coming to The States, but I live in Southern Louisiana and last week mine sat 3-4 days longer than normal. I for the first time froze that shipment as a safe guard. There is a competitor I deal with that ships with water pillows which some do not care for, but I like it. Now granted that place does nowhere the biz CI and CBid do... Overall I am happy with this auction site. I have had a few problems out of the many orders placed here and it appears it was on Ups' end not CBid. I love the deals here, but when you lay 1k down like my man above did... I feel his pain. But I sympathize with Trisha and CBid. Now if this problem persists I will then use my water pillow fast shipping other site. It's all about business! They want our money and we want their products at a cheaper price. I have spent way more than I ever wanted to on here, but I got some great deals!

I see both sides and agree with both.

My two cents soap box.

Nice first post there. Well said.

I think they CS department and the shipping department have heard the ruckus from the bidders. Had a lot close on 6/8, my regular shipping is Wednesday and received my shipping confirmation this morning. Not bad. Granted it was only a single box and did not require the picking person to run the multi-acre warehouse like Johnny Football avoiding a sack, but someone still had to do it and it got done.

This is a time frame problem. Hiring temps would probably slow them down further since it is only for a few weeks. Sounds like they are doing the best they can.

I agree with most of the comments here, that if they take your money they should ship your order. I have 2 orders that were marked shipped on 6/3/2014. Today is 6/12/2014 and I have nothing. Not even a tracking number. They said 3-4 days behind? How about 9!! This is so wrong to do this to the loyal customers who have supported them all these years. Ever since Cigars international bought "Pipesandcigars.com".....It's been one big mess, and it's been a year now. Rant over....Have a nice day!Brick wall

What is a 'time frame problem'?

This is a very simple problem that cbid has been unable (or more likely, unwilling) to handle for at LEAST 7 years. It is not a time frame problem. It is a warehousing, packing and shipping logistics problem. It is not a surprise and they are not in any way doing the best they can. They are doing the best that they are willing to do. Improved warehousing and shipping would cost money. It is quite clear that they are (and have been) more than willing to take the hit in customer satisfaction vice put forward the resources necessary to fix it. That's the business decision -- who am I to criticize it? It falls on Trish and team to absorb the flack.

They obviously do a great job of it because nothing changes. So...to take this ramble to the next illogical conclusion....if Customer Service sucked and couldn't keep us 'happy', Cbid would be forced to improve their logistics to keep us happy. This is all Trish's fault, of course. :)

It's annoying not to get your product when you have paid for it.................no doubt.........and as others have noted...........there's no excuse for it ..........period.
Also as noted...........nothing one can do except decide NOT to do business here.
The fact of the matter is most of us will stay, because :
1) CS is good in my experience, when compared to 4 other places I buy cigars online...........but probably average when compared to other large Internet retailers.
2) The prices, and selection, and bidding formats are good.
3) The Forum is a good place to make fun of Wheel

That said, I have to admit that some of the issues posted here had not occurred to me.
I'm lucky in that the climate at my house is probably one of the most friendly cigar climates on earth, and there's always someone at home, and I have plenty of cigars, so no worries for me with late deliveries, other than being annoyed.

But those single guys who live in heat, and have delivery set for the days they're at home, and then it doesn't come............only to show up later in the week when he's out and the package sits in 100+ degree heat for 8 hours...................or longer...............that sux!
Then what? He returns them to cbid.
Then what? They throw them out?? I think not.
Those half-baked cigars get restocked, only to be sent to some unlucky cbidder, probably a few days later.

I have to laugh at this. P&C is a great company and as far as pipes and pipe tobacco, its THE place to shop. However, its biggest day didn't compare with one of CBid's slowest days....sorry guys but that's how it is. They have absolutely nothing to do with the delay since there is a different process in place for those products.

We've put earlier shipping cut offs in place for the other companies sharing this facility. That will help get everything caught up. There's been a change in the method in which orders are packed and shipped. We're trying everything we can to get this worked out.

I have to laugh at CigarBids shipping. Ever heard of "smokingipipes.com"? They make "Pipesandcigars" look sick. Pipesandcigars is always out of product and they never notify you when they get it back in stock even if you do sign up for E-mail alerts for the item.
If you have time to sit on here and run your mouth....then you have time to answer customer service complaints and questions. For example....Where is my order from 6/3/2014 that STILL isn't shipped? Get with it or get out of it.
